This indicates a bad lamp. Get a replacement (make sure to check your TV for the code and type - this is listed on the right side of the TV and on the lamp case). Contact the store or a Samsung Service Center and give them the lamp code. Turn off the TV at least 30 minutes before replacing the lamp to allow it to cool. Remember to handle the new bulb with care; fingerprints can shorten the lamp life. The cool down happens when the TV is plugged into a wall outlet; if it is plugged into a cable box it may not cool properly. You need a Philips screwdriver (the screw is under a rubber cap that just pops off) and gloves. Unscrew this screw then remove the lamp cover; it takes a bit of force. Unscrew two more screws (one on the right and the left). They will remain on the body of the lamp. Separate the lamp from the engine by holding the handle and pulling it out. Reverse the steps to install the new lamp. Align the lamp cover with the grooves and secure the screws. If the lamp cover isn't properly closed, the TV will not turn on. There is a protection circuit involved.

I hope this helps.

I have a Samsung HL-P5067W/HL DLP tv. When I turn it on cold the lamp light blinks on and off. The fan makes a high pitch sound a relay clicks the TV goes back to standby and the lamp light starts blinking...

This sounds like a lazy lamp--that is getting hard to start. Try a new lamp first. If you are inclined to do so--get a bard bulb and install in the old lamp housing and save some money. Get a real PHILLIPS bulb--it will last a while--compared to cheap generics that are good for maybe 6 months !!

Was watching TV, heard a pop and the screeen went black. Now when I turn it on, the pwoer light blinks green but their is no picture or audio. The light then starts blinking red

Hi,
Is is standby light blinking red or any other light? Let me know how many times red standby light blinking after three seconds long pause to provide you helpful info.
It seems pop sound was due to broken lamp, please check lamp inside tv and if it is broken, replace it to solve tv problem.
Hope this will help.
Thanks.

Hlp 5063w on off front button flashing lamp then stanby..hear sound no picture.. shuts off then comes on.

If the lamp and standby lights are both flashing and the timer light is off, check that the lamp cover on the back of the TV is properly positioned in the groove and secured by the screw. Take it off and check that the screws that hold the lamp itself are secure. There is an safety feature that keeps the lamp from turning on when the lamp cover is off.

If the three lights (timer, lamp, and standby) are blinking, then the lamp needs to be replaced. If the timer and standby lights are blinking and the lamp light is off, then a cooling fan isn't working. When only the standby light is blinking and the other lights are off, the unit is overheating and a ventilation area may be blocked.

I hope this helps.

I own a Samsung HL-R5067W 50'' DLP. Set is about 3 years old. Recently I heard a loud pop while viewing, picture distorted, but never went blank. I turned set off. When turned on again a loud whining noise...

Check your color wheel. There is a DIY guide for replacing the color wheel. Mine did the same thing yours is and my color wheel was all busted up. Unfortunately after replacing the color wheel my set continues to do the same thing, but this could mean I need to replace the ballast as well.

Whining Noise and Image Problems

You better to check the color wheel or Lamp ballast.

Normally, the noise comes from color wheel.

3 blinking lights and no picture

The whine or squealing you hear is either the color wheel or fan. To determine which, when the noise is heard from the set, turn it off and listen carefully. If squealing stops immediately then Tthe fault is the color wheel, not the fan. And sounds like that are generally the color wheel. A new color wheel is Samsung p/n# BP96-00250A for this model. Vance Baldwin carries them for $97.20 plus shipping. https://www.vancebaldwin.com Logon as guest, select parts and copy past the above part number in without any dashes. Good luck... Bill
