Maybe your hard drive are not inserted properly in the motherboard, just check the connection. Turned Off you computer and check all connection on the hard drive then turn it on again. And try to go the CMOS or BIOS setup by pressing the Delete key on your keyboard and then try to see it the hard drive are detected by the BIOS. It it is detected your hard drive are ok but if it is not you have a problem for your hard drive and try to replace the hard drive.

Make sure Windows Update service is running, then unplug and replug in your USB cable. If it doesn't automatically install the driver for it, select the option to search windows update for the driver. This should fix the problem, or you may search windows update alternative updates for a USB update.
There are no drivers for this product outside of the windows USB drivers. Any website claiming there is a driver for it is more than likely offering a you a virus.

A Google-search for "specifications Toshiba MK8025GAS" leads to Toshiba's "specifications" page for their disk-drive: http://sdd.toshiba.com/main.aspx?Path=StorageSolutions/MK8025GAS

Read the page, looking for 'ATA-6' or 'SATA' or 'SATA2' disk-drive interfaces.

USB recognizes it, but not the OS. I get no drive

Hello, nkhamo

Now, when you say USB recognizes it, do you mean you see the drivers being installed? Because if you are the OS is recognizing something has been plugged in.

Sometimes updating the USB Drivers will be needed. Do that by visiting the maker of your computer and search for Drivers and Updates on their Web Site, look for 2.0 USB drivers class, download that package to your desktop. The driver might be in the form of a Zip FIle. In that case, unzip the files using standard WinZip program or use software provided by computer, to a folder called cab. The driver program might show preference were it wants to unzip to. If so, let it do its thing. Then afterwards find the folder (cab or other folder) run USB driver by clicking install exe file. Note that all periperials need to be unconnected from all USB ports ( the port the laser printer connects to the computer at ) before updating USB drivers. So check cables for solid reconnection after installing drivers.
Its important to recognize the os you have. You'll find that information by clicking on Start Menu > Settings > Control Panel > System.

After doing this update, reconnecting the hard drive via USB Port.

Good luck, jasahasch
