2. Where do I buy replacements?

Re: Sony HS30 Convergance Issue
The STK ICs are located on the D board their locations are IC801 and IC 802 they are both STK392-560 and you will only have to remove the D board. Usually only 1 or 2 resistors go bad right next to the ICs heatsink. You can get replacements at the following link and they include installation instruction plus free tech support heres the link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

1 or 2 things, Blowed Fuse on the Deflection power supply board
6.3 amps will be located in the Middle of chassis.
STK ICs need to be replaced STK392-110 use 120s
Mats Electronics has them 1-800-628-1118
convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually charge between $200-$400 Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks! See link for more detail http://www.ehow.com/how_4575598_yourself-projection-tv-repair-convergence.html
THEY are green and look like 1/2 watt resistor but will have amperage marked on them and the board--there at least 2 of them near the caps--if you need a photo of what they look like firstname.lastname@example.org---Convergence chips will not cause the set to not boot up (the green light blinks and does not stop)
I do this here for free so if this information was helpful give me a vote here--good luck---if you cannot fix the receiver the only choice is to contact PTS electronics--you can ship it to them for repair/rebuild---part no longer is available from MITSUBISHI.
I learned today on my Mitsubishi VS-60621 (chassis VZ4) there are 3 convergence ICs (3, not just one as previously suggested), all 3 are STK391-020 located underneath the large heat sink on the upper right (as viewed from back of set), above the large PCB with the 6"x10" cover in the middle. The 3 chips are hanging upside down from their heat sink, have aluminum covers over them (so well hidden, it took me hours to find them, not knowing where to look), and the whole heat sink & chip assembly comes out by removing 2 screws, the front one must be accessed by removing the large lower front plastic cover and fiber-board piece behind it. Not necessary to remove the smaller plastic cover and control box above the big one. The big plastic cover has 2 large tabs on the bottom straddling the center post that will still hold it on once the screws are removed, gently pull down on them to release it. Not necessary to remove the glass doors, but probably safer to do so. Good luck!
Thats the regulator chip for the convergence circuits thats the one youre most likely needing, as your chassis doesnt have convergence ICs. You can get that IC at the following link and they will provide free installation instructions and free on line tech support just in case you need assistance. Here is the link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
the manual is almost impossible to find. But that chassis usually only has 1 IC that powers the convergence. Usually a STK730-020 or simallar. post the number off the IC you see up front and I will cross reference it for you and post a link where you can get a replacement
you don't need a convergence board the one you have could be fix the only problem is the alignment is not that easy and won't cost $ 500 unless you live in alaska and worth fixing it today you just get bad set made in chi???
Convergence PCB probably not available....can you get me any #'s off the PCB or part # of STK IC or location # of convergence IC ??? ..................Should be worth fixing if I can get alittle more info....................T.
Note to mountain mom: You have a completely different
symptom ..............+ need service #.............
