You should find little clips holding them in place. Take a screwdriver and find where the hoop (clip) has a notch in it and put pressure against should pop out (wear eye safety gear). Once clip is off....tire will pull off

Testimonial: "The front wheel came off just fine. The Rear wheel is keyed and must be rusted on the shaft so I am putting in a tube to fix the flat tire. Thanks for all your advise."

Why is the front of my deck on my lt 2000 craftman mower all of a sudden digging into the ground

Answer will depend on what mower you have but it sounds like the front wheel height adjuster has slipped or broken.

Thanks: belt is slipping and I got it used and have used it for 8 years. Possible other problems. I need to remove the deck. Thanks again

hello qp..... the belt is slipping because it is old and stretched. Replace it and you will be good to go. Regarding the deck... you must drop it in order to replace the belt. look under the tractor to see how the deck attaches. do this on a level spot so the tractor won't roll. generally you begin by undoing the belt from the drive wheel in the front and then dropping the front by releasing the mechanism that holds it in place.

the last part is to disconnect the rear. Joe

Changed the tire on my craftman lawn mower and now it will not drive

there is a key keeping the wheel and axle in sync. make sure this did not fall to the ground when you removed the wheel. fits in the slot on axle and wheel. if you lost it you can buy another at a small engine parts store. another possible problem is that you slid the wheel on backwards and it is rubbing against the mower frame.

Looking for a front axle for a craftman 19.5 briggs and stratton 42" deck green color model do not have the model # also does anyone know if the wheels come off the axle or is it one unit

The wheels usually have a rubber cover in the center, remove that and there is an e-clip that can be removed with a flat blade screw driver, or pliers. The axle beam, spindles and wheels can all be serviced separately.

Rear wheel removal from craftman riding mower

Do you have the rim and tire off and you want to remove the hub?
I believe every rider mower and tractor I've had and worked on had the rear tire attached to the hub as in a car, with lug nuts or lug bolts. Check to see if there are four or five lug bolts that hold the rim onto the hub.

How do i remove left rear wheel to replace tire on craftman riding mower model 917272140

First Raise the mower and set the draw bar on a block or jackstand or something. Now pull off the black plastic cap it might be harden from age so pliers will help here. Now take a screw driver and stick it in that small grove in that E-clip and turn the handle to prize off the E-clip. Now remove the large washer there may be two. Pull and rock that tire back and forth there is a steel keyway in the axle. It all could be rusty so spray it with oil and use a hammer on the back side if needed.

Craftman 20 1/2 with 42 inch cut deck is leaning more to the front how do you adjust

If you look at the front of the mower there are two rods that attach to the front of the tractor frame. On these rods there are 3/4 nuts that are the mower rake adjustment.First start by positioning one of the blades to a front/rear orientation. <easure the height of the blade from floor at the front part of blade and then the rear. The front measurement should be a maximum of 1/4 inch lower than the rear. Loosen up the lock-nuts on the adjusting rods and turn the nuts clockwise, this will pull the front of the mower deck up.
