As long as the door bellow is not damaged in any way, it can easily be reinstalled. The following link explains how:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3574186-installing_a_door_bellow_on_a_front_load

Refer to step 12 to re-install the front bellow clamp (wire hoop). This can be accomplished by yourself, but it goes much faster with the assistance of another person.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

I just bought a defy top loader dtl 151 and it keeps tangling the clothes

Here are a few suggestions.
Sometimes too much water ( or not enough clothes) will result in tangled clothes.
Sometimes the types of clothes will tangle more easily than others.
( Thin cotton tee shirts or long cotton dresses might tangle easily. )
I might recommend you mix in some heavier and thicker items to help, such as towels or blue-jeans and see if that fixes the problem.
God bless your efforts.

Why are my business shirts on a gentle cycle or any wash cycle so badly tangled togther?

Hi Stella,

I suspect the tangled shirts coming out of the washer is a result of the differences between the way a front loader vs a top loader clean clothes and can not be avoided. I don't think this is the source of the wrinkles though. I suspect the wrinkles are more a result of how long clothes remain in the dryer *after* the cycle has completed. If you remove the clothes *promptly* from the dryer and use a "dryer sheet" you will reduce / minimize the wrinkling you're seeing.

1 Answer

My clothes are coming out dirty with lint build up from the washing machine- kelvinator smart drive 053, have undone and cleaned centre- is there a trap underneath anywhere that may be full or blocked?

9 WASH PERFORMANCE INFORMATION
9.1 Creasing
Creasing can be caused by over loading the washer or the dryer. Permanent Press or Delicate
cycles have been designed to minimise creasing as they use a lower spin speed. Do not leave wet clothes to sit in the washer or laundry basket.
9.2 Soiling
Soiling is the result of insufficient detergent for the load. White clothes are better washed
separately. Separate lightly and heavily soiled items, as clothes can pick up soil from dirty wash water. Cold water below 68oF / 20 oC does not wash effectively. Select the wash temperature according to soil type. For example, blood and mud are better washed in cold water, while sweat and oil based soil wash better in warmer water. Loads made up of articles of varying sizes will wash better (e.g. full loads of sheets may not wash that well). Hard water requires more detergent than soft water.
9.3 Linting
Wash lint givers (eg. towels, flannelette sheets) separately from lint collectors (eg. synthetic
fabrics). Over loading the washer can increase the likelihood of linting. Insufficient detergent for the load can increase linting as there will not be enough detergent to hold the lint in suspension. Over drying synthetic fabrics in a dryer can cause a build-up of static electricity and result in the fabrics attracting lint.
9.4 Detergent Residue
Over loading the washer can result in detergent residue being caught in the creases of the fabrics.
If this occurs, decrease the load size. Some detergents need to be pre-dissolved. Check the instructions for the detergent. Cold ambient temperatures, cold washes or short agitation times may not let the detergent dissolve properly. In these cases pre-dissolve the detergent. Overdosing of detergent can also cause residue when foam breaks down and will show as white specs on the clothing. Poor quality detergents can result in residue.
9.5 Black Marks on Clothes
A build up caused by the interaction of fabric softener and detergent (scrud) can flake off and mark
clothes. Do not use too much fabric softener, maximum 75cc. If this is a problem, it is recommended that the machine is periodically filled with hot water, plus 1-2 cups of dishwasher powder and left to soak.
9.6 Grey Marks on Clothes
Not enough detergent for the amount of soil on the clothes can result in grey marks on clothes. If
this is a problem it is recommended that the machine be periodically filled with hot water, plus detergent and left to soak.
9.7 Dye Transfer
Wash and dry non-colorfast clothes separately. Non colorfast clothes left sitting in a washer or
laundry basket can transfer dye to other clothes.
9.8 Tangling
Washing with too much water (i.e. under loading) can cause the clothes to tangle around each
other. Do not load the machine by wrapping clothes around the agitator.

Hole in Maytag Neptune front load washer door and flaking or melting of door.

Hello,
I've owned the same Neptune since 1999 and had this problem happen to me twice, the first time the inside molded plastic door melted through in a circular pattern and had to be replaced. The fact that it was circular indicates that something was rubbing during the high speed spin. That something was a stiff bottomed duffle bag that was rubbing on the plastic door during high speed spin. The washer was full of other clothes that didn't allow the duffle bag enough room in the washer tub, hence it pressed against the plastic door. The second time it happened I got a circular groove melted in, but not through, the plastic door... caused this time by a small child's back pack. I would make sure "rigid" items have enough room to "float" in the tub cavity by not putting in other clothing that over packs the washer.

Error code "UE" clothes have

UE = Unbalance Error

Laundry load is unbalanced, manually loosen any tangled laundry.
If only one item of clothing needs washing, such as a bathrobe or jeans, the final spin result might be unsatisfactory and an UE error message will be shown in the display. Unbalance error is cleared by POWER switch OFF and back ON.

Clothes got tangled with rubber seal inside and ripped it. How do I fix/get a new seal?

This part is a problem on many front-loaders and never really goes away. The rubber seal is a replaceable part and should be supplied under warranty. There is no way to fix it.You should try very hard to get Sears to pick up the labor cost as well.
