Water leaks at bottom of fridge

The same thing happened to me then I noticed ice had formed at the bottom of our fridge. It was covering a drain hole so water was leaking out the front of fridge instead of going to the drain pan or wherever the hole goes. After I chipped out the ice and cleared the hole with warm water the leak stopped. I also fixed another leak coming from bottom of fridge caused by a loose brass connection on water line going to the door.

Frozen water on bottom of whirlpool model evl181nxtq01

I assume that the water is on the bottom of the fridge compartment? It could be that the drain trough has blocked and every time the fridge does an auto defrost, water runs out onto the floor of the fridge rather than down the drain. Once the defrost finishes, the water will stay on the floor of the fridge. Cold air falls to the bottom so its possible to get a sheet of ice in the bottom of the fridge. Locate the drain trough in the back wall of the fridge. See if you can visually locate any blockages or carefully dribble warm water down the drain to clear it.

Model RB215LABP water acumulates in veggie bins & on the bottom of refrigerator and freeezes

The drain tube that runs down the back of the fridge into the tray that sits on top of the compressor is blocked, you need to clear this, you can either use compressed air and blow back up into the fridge of find a soft but stiff wire to carefully slide up the tube.

The water valve is broken and when we open the freezer, there is acumulation of ice that has dripped from the compartiment . where can I buy a new valve ? is it called solenoid ? tks, adriana

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
This can cause slow ice making if its too high even tho its freezing everything else at 25 degrees
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
The icemaker is 110v
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects thenyou need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.
If its leaking or no water at icemaker or door either one, then the valve at the rear bottom of ref needs replacing
First I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also if it is getting drinking water to the door but not to the icemaker (or vice versa) Then you need to replace
the water valve at the bottom rear of the fridge. It is a double valve and one side is not working
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath

Need to know if my refigerator maytag mtf2193ar has any kind of system to drain defrost water because all that water is just acumulating at the bottom of the fridge and is just leaking out tru the door...

Yes the auto defrost drain water should run into a drain tube and out into a pan under the refrig where it just evaporates. You have a clogged drain and will need to look for it. Move your refrig out from the wall and you should be able to see the drain hose and get it cleaned out.Hope you find this helpful.

Water lks bottom of fridge ,also ice tastes horrible

u shd spl ot ur wds fly. Do you mean the water leaks at the bottom of the fridge? If so, you may have a clogged drain hose. Pull out fridge, disconnect power, check & see where drain comes out of fridge, go to front and pour hot water down drain to see if it is frozen. It may be clogged (pea or food). If the drain doesn't work, the fridge will leak. Check the gasket on the fridge door for sealing and make sure it is in good shape.

there is a single screw at the top of that shield (under the dirty water tank) and then there is 2 screws on the bottom that you unscrew and the shield will slide right off and you wipe it out and put it back on.
