You should connect the cable to the audio in. You will then need to change input(source) on the radio to auxilary. Good Luck.

How can I connect my I pod Touch to my Denon AVR 1803 receiver?

The best way to connect an older IPod or other MP3 player to the AVR-1803 is to use a 3.5 mm (M) to RCA audio cable. This will work for audio on all IPods (and video on some of the older IPods). Here's an example: http://www.amazon.com/3-5mm-Audio-Video-Cable-iPod/dp/B000STBSU4 . Connect the 3.5 mm end to the headphone jack; the RCA plugs go into one of the AVR-1803 RCA inputs.

For some IPods, try a connector like this: http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Unlimited-iPod-Connector-Cable/dp/B000CBFVXS . This connects to the docking port on the IPod.

I hope this helps.

Hook up an iPod to Beosound2000 system??

There is an Aux input on the B & O. you can connect the I-pod to through this input. You will need a 3.5mm phono to 2 RCA cable connector. The phono jack goes to the I-pods headphone socket and the RCA ( Red & White ) jacks goes to the B & O Aux input.bobhifi_28.jpg

Can i hook an ipod up through an aux cable that plugs in to the ipod . its the red and white aux cable and it plugs into the earphone place on an ipod

If you are talking about the cable I think you are, all you do is plug the red and white rca into the input of your choice on the back of your radio and the other end into your choice of audio output (anything with that size headphone port).

How to play my ipod through this stereo

USER GUIDE
This is the quick and easy way to adapt a standard stereo 3.5mm (1/8 inch) sound output into standard RCA plugs. Ideal for connecting your MP3 Player with a 3.5mm plug to VCR's, TV's or anything else that has RCA stereo sound inputs.
General Features:
- Fits standard 3.5mm (1/8") stereo phone jack
- Gives you two male RCA (left / right) sound outputs
- Great for converting a headphone2_bing.gif jack to standard RCA sound outputs
- 6 foot length
- Straight cable (not a coiled cable)

Generally these connectors cost between $1.00 to $5.00

Is there a way to hook up an ipod to this stereo so it will play the ipod music through the stereo? Can I purchase a docking station that will hook up to this stereo?

Just get an adapter for to connect from the Ipod headphone jack to a standard RCA cable pair. Jack into AUX or whatever available input you have.

How do you hook up your ipod through the rca cable hookups in the back without the radio still playing?

This is different on every stereo, but generally the RCA ports in the back of the stereo are labeled "Aux" or something to that extent.

First, you must purchase a headphone jack to RCA cable which can connect to both your stereo and your ipod.

Connect the cable, turn your ipod on and start playing a song. Turn the volume on the stereo to a moderate volume so you can hear when the song is being played through your stereo. Then, using the selector switch, turn the stereo from "Radio" to "Aux" or whatever it says next to the the RCA plug ins on the back.

Haveing trouble hearing sound when I have my IPod connected

You need a AI Net cable or Speed Cable... It plugs into the back of the radio (looks like a circle with holes), and the other end can have a "Y" plug (headphone jack and iPod flat jack). The headphone jack for sound, the flat jack to charge he iPod while listening. I just bought mine on Crutchfield.com for $29.99. With the discount code: 3A156 you can get standard shipping free. The item # is: 127ICALPA and it's named "PAC iPod Adapter for Alpine".

The simplest solution would be connect the headphone jack on the iPod to the stereo audio inputs (RCA) to your home theater. So you need a cable that is "stereo phono mini jack" on one end (into iPod headphone jack), and then Y-splits into two RCA connectors on the other end (into L and R audio in on the receiver).

The expensive Apple-endorsed Monster-branded version can be found at http://store.apple.com/us/product/TN983LL/A#overview for $30, but you can get the same thing at Radio Shack for $7.

Set the iPod volume to less than ~80% and then control the volume using your receiver. You have to use the iPod menu to select music.

you have to get an iPod cable that gives you RCA outputs. Just connect the RCA outputs from the iPod to the AUX inputs on the unit. I believe that should do it. Ebay sells the iPod cables, and most electronics stores should as well
