What size unit do I need for my room?
Use the following chart to find the appropriate size air conditioner to use:
AREA TO BE COOLED / CAPACITY (BTU/HR)
100 to 150 square feet = 5,000
150 to 250 square feet = 6,000
250 to 300 square feet = 7,000
300 to 350 square feet = 8,000
350 to 400 square feet = 9,000
400 to 450 square feet = 10,000
450 to 550 square feet = 12,000
550 to 700 square feet = 14,000
700 to 1000 square feet = 18,000
If the room is heavily shaded, reduce needed capacity by 10%
If the room receives a lot of direct sun, increase needed capacity by 10%
Add 600 Btu/Hr for each person in the room if there are more than two people
If the unit is for a kitchen, increase the capacity by 4,000-6,000 Btu/Hr.
if this helps please vote me a fix ya

SOURCE: Air conditioner not cooling
hi! there well it seem all you mention to your aircon doesn't have any problem physically at all.with that there is still posibility that the heart of cooling system is the sympton that you mention internally speaking of compression, you have to check also the performance of your compressor effeciency.doing yhis primarily.we can rely on oprating pressure and operating current flowing in your system while running, this actually give tou yhe idea what really the condition of your ac internally.run your unit using clamp ammeter tester check your amper actual operating current clamp your tester one line of 3 lead compressor take the reading, then compare this reading to your rated compressor, current usually indicated to your manual diagram and tag plate on your compressor. if your actual ampere reading is below need to recharge the sysrem but if haas a asme value actual and rated you system is good is good. , as you can see if your thermostat is working properly you have a good airconditioning system, try to see set up of temperatur, try to the coolest point or maximum adjustment and observe the cooling effect if the blowing air on evaporator is strengthning the cooling effect increase, but if no change the problem is on blower or blower control sensor as you increase yhe speed of blower the cooling air increases.lastly the pressue from hi and lo side system must be check by pressure gauge manifold same after taking reading compare to rated hi lo pressure from manual.if low pressur recharge.this should be done by qualified a/c technician on service center.regard and have a nice day

When the unit is running, go outside and put your hand near the condenser fins, this air that comes out should be slightly warmer than the ambient temp. If it is not you will need to take the unit out of the window and out of its outer case and clean the condenser fins from the inside, this is no easy task as it is very hard to reach. You will want to get a small (toothbrushed sized) brass bristled brush with a long handle. Make sure the evaporator coil (in the front) recieves the same attention and wash the mesh filter that goes in front of the evaporator. Re- assemble and enjoy the cold air.

in all honesty, it's a ridiculous gimmick. the system still runs the same as it would when you are using the A/C, however in Dry Mode there is a small heater in the unit which runs also, to prevent the system from lowering your room's air temp. a/c's always dehumidify air anyway, so basically dry mode is like running a/c and heat at the same time. $$$$$$.

SOURCE: What does the
Your AC removes humidity and cools the air, in Dry Mode it cools the air but does not remove the humidity as much, which is OK in a desert (Las Vegas, Arizona, etc.) but not good for caribbean with the high humidity
