It could be: the knob/control panel, one or more fuses, or the heating element.
When this happened to me it was the heating element on my electric dryer. The heating element stopped working because the air flow was blocked, causing the heating element to work too hard and develop a break. The air flow was blocked because you're supposed to take the dryer out every 6 months and clean the lint out of the vent behind the machine. No where in any owners manual does it really explain this. For my machine, the heating element was about 50 bucks and it was easy to fix it myself, but don't order a new heating element unless you know that's what it is. It could also be a problem with the knob, one of the fuses, etc. The heating element is the most expensive problem. The fuses are cheaper. If you have a multimeter you can check the resistance, but the place where I buy my appliance parts will check them for free. You might try calling around to see if a place near you will do that for you.

My dryer will runs but doesnt get hot? Heating element?? I cant afford to have it repaired and would like to do it myself,

I have a temp fix. Make sure you use copper wire. Take the heating element out. Then look for the place that burned into.. Twist you copper wire tight around each side to make a complete connections. Make sure the copper wire is thick enough too. I had done this several times to buy me time to save up some money to buy a new element. Hope this helps

Hello, I have Kenmosre 90 series dryer. Did a load ealier today, and it was fine. Went back to put another load in and realised NO heat was on, absolutley no heat in the dryer, the air inside is room...

you may need a heating element. You can go to your locale appliance store and buy the element & install it yourself . Just make sure you take All your dryer info, (etc; the dryer model, make, yr & the serial # ) this info is easy to find, its located inside the dryer door. Just call around your locale area and ask them how much it is for the heating element, for your dryer. It should be rather cheap compared to the cost of Kenmore appliance company coming out to fix it for you. The heating element is rather easy to install. I have installed a few in my own dryers and in my hot water heater.
Thank you.

My Haier clothes dryer (HDY-C70-F) spins but doesn't heat, then displays an ''E2'' error. Could it be a simple fix I can do myself?

Guess the answer is too late for you, but for others:

E2 means that the heating element is broken. You can buy a new heating element and replace it. Unscrew the backpanel and you see an aluminium block which looks like a radiator. Replace this by the new element and you are ready to go.

Don't know what the price is though.

Heating element replacement

Without knowing more details (make, model, gas or electric), it's difficult to tell, but if you want know what part you need, you can visit and they'll have parts listed AND photos of what the parts look like so you'll get the right thing.
It's definitely worth a look and a little effort. I find it hard to believe that you couldn't fix it cheaper than replacemtent of the dryer...
I think you're wise to ask this question...
Good luck on this... and let me know if you need more assistance.

My Kenmore electric dryer runs but no heat ....

Before I wish you luck i want you to review all of the possible reasons for your problem

If your dryer doesn't heat, check these:

Power from the house
Heating element
Thermal fuse
Power from the house Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? Check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers--your dryer uses two fuses or circuit breakers. The dryer could tumble but not heat if only one of the two fuses is blown. If you have circuit breakers, one of the two circuit breakers can trip, even if the two for the dryer are connected.

Heating element Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable.

Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse--which is about an inch long--is usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing. If the fuse has blown, you need to replace it. (You can't re-set it.)

Wiring A common problem is for the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, to burn and break its connection. Because the dryer can still tumble with partial power, the connection may be only partially defective. You may need to replace both the power cord to the dryer and the terminal block inside the dryer that the wire is attached to.
