This is a pretty old game. What is most likely happening is that the game shipped with some sort of copy protection check, that requires you to have the CD in the drive. However it doesn't know how to read the CD under the newer version of Windows, so it can't verify the copy protection on the CD and you can't play the game.

Normally, I would never condone this, but since this game is so old and not even supported by the original company that made it (I don't think 3DO is even around anymore), you should search google for High Heat baseball 2004 nocd or something like that. Basically patch the CD copy protection so it stops checking for it.

Since you have tried everything and seems you know your way around the hard ware, I would not write any precautions. That said, the only thing you missed in your question is the CPU. You can try taking it out, look for the buildup dust + cpu glue (this could look like mud). Try to clean off these with tissue paper. Apply new CPU glue (this you can find from IT hardware store/ radio shack) between the CPU and the heatsink (not too much). Put the CPU back in the socket, Plug everything back on and switch on. See what happen. If it does not work you are about to buy another CPU. Worse, mother board + CPU. Sorry mate. Baseball bat option is not recommended. :)

I've stated playing baseball a few months ago. Normal running shoes are not comfortable. Looking for a good shoe - any thoughts guys?

If you are going to play baseball, regular shoes won't suffice. Baseball cleats are specially made for baseball and are required on most levels of league play. Here are some instuctions on how to choose the best shoe for you:
1.Find out what type of cleats are allowed in your baseball leagues.
2.Locate a store in your area that specializes in baseball apparel. Use your phone book and look under the baseball listing to find specialty baseball stores.
3.Try on the baseball cleats at a local store. Baseball cleats are different than other types of shoes, and the sizes might not correspond exactly to your regular shoe size.
4.Shop around for prices once you have found the right pair of cleats for you. You can look in different shoe stores to locate the lowest price, as well as look at online baseball apparel shops.

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

Acer Desktop Veritron M460 will not load Windows XP or Vista!

This problem may occur if the Ntfs.sys file is missing or becomes corrupted when you convert your hard disk to NTFS To resolve this problem, replace the missing or corrupted Ntfs.sys file:
  1. Use the Windows XP startup disks or the Windows XP CD to restart your computer.
  2. When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to select the To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R option.
  3. Type the number of the Windows installation that you want to access from the Recovery Console, and then press ENTER.
  4. Type the administrator password when you are prompted, and then press ENTER. If no administrator password exists, just press ENTER.
  5. At the command prompt, type the following commands (press ENTER after each command): cd \windows\system32\drivers

ren ntfs.sys ntfs.oldNote This step renames the corrupted Ntfs.sys file to Ntfs.old. If the Ntfs.sys file is not found, the file is missing.
  6. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER: copy cd:\i386\ntfs.sys drive:\windows\system32\driversWhere cd is the drive letter for the CD-ROM drive that contains the Windows XP CD, anddrive is the drive where you installed Windows XP.
  7. Remove the Windows XP CD from your CD-ROM drive, type quit at a command prompt, and then press ENTER to quit the Recovery Console.
  8. Restart the computer.I hope this helps. The other thing I can think of is maybe your harddrive needs a raid driver. If this is a sata drive and an old version of you os,the sata driver may not be already on the disk and you will have to insert one.Let me know if the first solution works,if not we can try the raid driver.

2004 Cadillac Escalade Engine Stalling when idling in hot weather

Given your high guage temps of 210 degrees and high ambient temperature of 100 degrees, your engine's stalling can very likely be linked to either one of these three causes: 1) vapor lock; 2) percolation; or 3) PCV malfunction. Here's a really good diagnostic article that precisely addresses this issue of yours:

Try borrowing a compatible HDD instead of buying a third one for testing and check if the same error exists. Try also using an external DVD drive to see if your internal CD-ROM is defective. Try also using another Windows XP CD installer. You can also use other OS installation CD to check it. Otherwise, there is something wrong with your lappy's motherboard due to tear and wear, heat, vibration, misuse and shock.

When i try to copy dvd it keeps telling me to insert blank disc even though one is in there i can burn cds but not dvd it tells me to put in writeable disk and ive put in dvdr-w and dvd-r and still it...

Go to the device manager to insure your optical drive is in fact a DVD/RW. You should also be able to tell by looking at the front of the drive and see what it says. If it says CD Writable or DVD Rom, you cannot do it. Kind of sounds like you have a CD/RW-DVD Rom combination drive, which does not allow the burning of DVD's.

Let me know, OK.
