T probably needs a defroster timer. You can take it apart and clean the contacts with some sand paper to fix the old one. It's located just behind the light bulbmy top freezer refrigerators freezer works fine - 2_bing.gif. You will have to lower the cover for the light to get to it. Defrost the top freezer2_bing.gif by leaving it off for a period of time or take the shelves out and blowing hot air into the rear vents until ice melts. Then reinstall timer and plug back in. Get the whole model number and go to appliancepartspro.com to get a diagram. I fixed mine in less than an hour. frt18il6dw

SOURCE: Refrigerator compartment not cool

I know with gas fridges they get bubbles in the system and it helps to turn them upside down for a short time.

Refrigerator stopped cooling 2 days ago. Freezer works fine. What is broken? Appliance is four years old. Replaced compressor almost exactly 1 year ago.

Check the fan in the freezer and be sure it's working, isn't blocked by product or isn't clogged with ice. If this fan isn't working the refrigerator section won't cool properly.

Amana French Door Refrigerator "on" but no cooling; freezer still works

There are 2 possible problems. One is the defrost cycle is not working properly this is usually indicated by a large amount of frost on the back freezer panel. If so, the circuit will have to be repaired and the evaperator thawed to remove the ice build up. The other is the fresh food damper is not working properly this is behind the "lump" in the back of the fridge compartment above the top shelf, remove the louver panel to see if it is open or closed. closed will be warm open should be cold. The water dispenser reservoir is probably frozen due to poor air circulation.
