As an 18 year fitnes repair technician of fitness equipment (and a six year advanced certified Precor tech) I can say without a doubt that an error 30 is NOT "no power to the upper board". think logically...if there's no power to the upper pca how can the upper pca tell you there is no power? good luck! PS: you can ask nicely and someone may give you the Precor Repair Manual we all get when we take the Precor Training Seminars. OH...an error 5 is usually caused because you hit a button just before the unit had finished booting up and you interupted the self diagnostic.

Error 30 is no power to upper PCA or upper console. I believe in the 546 there are 2 interconnect cables, one lower that runs from the back to the bottom of the mast, and an upper, that runs from the console, down the mast. They meet at the front and connect using what's known as a mid-point connector (technical, I know). Unfortunately, there's no real test available, aside from checking the 3 connections other than substituting out for a known good cable. You can remove the console and ensure that the cable wasn't plugged into the CSAFE port on the console board. Sometimes, if a machine has been transported or moved, this can happen as the CSAFE and LOWER PCA ports are identical, but it's printed on the actual circuit board under it. Now depending on the serial number sequence of the machine, the cable can route a few different ways, although most use a 2 interconnect cable system with a mid-point connector (little black female/female connector) I would be able to get a little more detailed if I had a serial number, the first 4 digits are enough to establish the particulars about a machine.

I have this issue. I did not physically see the machine working properly prior to this issue, but I was told it was working fine before I took the (handle)bars off and disconnected the electronics to move it through a narrow doorway...and I have no reason to doubt it was working fine. Upon re-assembly, I'm receiving the ERR30 message after seeing an "ERROR 5 - Stuck Key" message.

Funny you should mention it, because the only part of disassembly that I did not note specifically was the CSAFE and LOWER PCA positioning. I do not remember which one the cable was plugged into. Therefore, according to your advice above, I removed the circuit board, but there is nothing on the underside to indicate which is which. Regardless, however, whether the cable is plugged into the CSAFE or LOWER PCA (whichever is which), the ERR30 message appears, so this leads me to believe the "error" is occuring elsewhere.

What I believe to be the serial number is 75D18N0033. Another number on the machine that could be the serial is 250Z4A. Any suggestions/help will be greatly appreciated.

Error code -SE-

Hi maaki41,

The error code SE stands for a keypad is held down for longer than 10 seconds. If you were not holding down a button then you have a defective key pad because of the sensor error. My maytag oven has a function error. F5 and F3

Hi sorianocynth,

Maytag error F5 and F3 do have different indications. Error F5 means watchdog and hardware conflict. The only way to resolve this is to replace clock (ERC). On the other hnd, F3 means you have shorted or open oven temperature sensor (RTD). Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.

For replacement part you may contact Sears at 1-800-252-1698; M-F 6:30 AM-10:30 PM - Sat 7:00 AM-9:30 PM - Sun 7:30 AM-9:30 PM - All times Central. When they send out the part detailed instruction will be provided.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

PHASER 7700 ERROR 30

try this
The following functions will generate a Tech Rep Fault:
  • Error: 30: Belt Home Too long
  • Errors: 12, 13, 14, 15: ATC-YMCK Sensor Fail
  • Errors: 40, 44: Fuser Main/Sub Lamp Temp Too High
  • Enter Service Diagnostics
  • Highlight NVRAM Access and press OK
  • Highlight Clear Tech Rep Faults and press OK
  • Highlight the Tech Rep fault to be cleared and press OK

If you have had the error 3 consecutive times , you do need to send the snippet to the printer to clear the error. The instructions how to do it are in the download.
Other things. You may need to replace the accumulator belt.
You may have toner backed up in the waste auger, you can clean that out and replace the waste bottle.
Cause:
The plastic tab attached to the cleaning blade assembly was broken, this tab opens the cleaning blade waste assembly when the belt is lowered .
Solution: thumbsup.gif Fixed! thumbsdn.gif Did not fix. The waste toner from accumulator belt cleaner could not reach the waste bin and jammed the augur. This caused the grinding noise by stalling the accumulator belt motor. This causes an error 30 code to be displayed.
The belt cleaner does come as a separate part 016-1889-00 and is very easy to fit and much cheaper than a new belt assembly.
Error 30 is a Tech Rep fault. After three Error 30's, the NVRAM Clear Tech Rep Faults will need to be reset to be able clear the Error 30 message.
