Thank you..this I could do. Hadn't figured out why the icon has disappeared and is disabled. I can't click to turn it back on...but now I can turn it up/down either way!

  • Click on the small arrow type pointer in the taskbar towards the notification area, then select the customize option. After that, locate the volume icon and selet the "Show icon and Notification" option. Then, click on OK.

I had tried that but the volume was the only option that wouldnt do anything when I clicked on it. Everything else was enabled or on yes. after I started using the F keys, it came back. So thanks again!

Hi, in the same area where the "Volume Controller," should be, (right click), to open the "Short-cut menu," next; select the [Properties], to open. The "Taskbar Start Menu..." opens, click on the "Notification area" button; a new window appear, in the [System icons] section, select the Volume [box], and put a check in it by clicking in the box. Next, click on the Apply and OK buttons. "That should take care of that, the "Volume will be placed on the Taskbar." "Let me know by giving a "Helpful Rating" I appreciated it, thanks.

At the bottom of your pc screen you have an icon of a speaker with curves coming out of it. Click on that speaker, click on the rectangular bar and raise it to increase your volume. Lower that bar to decrease it.

1. Press the Fn key and while holding it down, press the F8 key momentarily to toggle muting of the speaker. An icon of the speaker appears at the bottom middle of the screen showing muting on or off.
2. After making sure the muting is off (no slash symbol on the speaker icon), press and hold Fn again.

Dont know how to control the volume, i cannot find my manual

Most of the time their are multiple ways to do this.

1. On the speaker in the lower right hand corner left click and a volume bar appears. Slide it up and down. It should be adjust to 75% IMO.

2. On your keys there should be symbols that look like speakers that should match the color of you "fn" key. Press and hold the fn key and then press the corresponding speaker key to increase or decrease the volume.

3. There may be a rotary volume control on the front of the laptop case. It's as simple as turning it to increase or decrease it.

On the volume bar in windows verify that the muted in unchecked.

I cannot listen from speaker because its creating problem.

On an "Acer Notebook" you can try these following keys combination:

FN + <<arrow point up>> to increase the volume.

FN+ F8 : turn on / of speaker.

or double click the "speaker icon" on the right bottom bar to open the
volume control menu. Lift up the volume control bar, be sure that the
mute all check box is not checked.

But try to check the check box on bottom of "Line In" control menu.

Good look

Look for the speaker Icon at the bottom RH corner of the lower tool bar. If it has a red slash sign on it click with the left mouse key, it should go off. ThenClick and hold it again to display the bar graph of volume level. Adjust accordingly.

To set on the speakers

if you have a little speaker icon on the bottom action bar, click on it and see if it's set on mute. un-check it and all should be right! if you don,t have the icon, then click on 'start' click on 'control panel' click on 'sounds and audio devices', somewhere there you should find an option to put the volume control option on your bottom bar. good luck from there! if that doesn,t work, then your audio may be fried! let's hope not!!
