Refrigerator not getting cold. Fan problem?

I have a 2 year old Whirlpool top freezer and the refrigerator portion is not getting cold. What is the purpose of the the fan on the back of the freezer wall? Is it to push air from the freezer to the fridge? If so, my fan is not working and what would be my solution to fixing the fan?

You are EXACTLY right. With a model number I can tell you the exact fan motor that you will need. You can order it online or at a local retailer. Then simply take the old one out, remember how it came out :) and put the new one in its place. On a rare occasion new fans will have slight differences. If you have any experience they do not pose a problem. Let me know if I can help an any other way!

Top of the refrigerator is not cooling and the freezer portion is to cold

Main cooling happens in the freezer.

Since top (fridge part) not getting cooling the sensor in that part is continuously asking for cold. So the freezer get colder and colder.

Fridge part not cooling can be due to one of the many reasons.

Evaporator fan, Defrosting problem, Damper motor issues etc etc.

Kenmore side by side Refrigerator top portion is not getting cold. The freezer is working and the bottom portion of the refrigerator is cold but not the top portion of the refrig,

the refrigerator simply by transferring the cold air from freezer via circulation fan the temp controls tells the fan to circulate cold air until the thermostat is satisfied I would check to see if the fan is blowing on most models I have seen its located in the left rear wall closest to the freezer above the top shelf

If your fan motor is blowing then I would say you have a defrost problem. How about a good old apartment top mount ice box manual from whirlypool?

Refrigerator Not Cold

You are not moving air between the freezer and refrigerator sections. This may be due to a defective fan motor or a frozen evaporator coil.

Hello, I have a Whirlpool refrigerator that is just over a year old (Model #ER8YHMXSB00). The freezer seems to be working fine but the refrigerator will not cool below approx. 50 deg F. This just started...

Hi,

Refrigerators and Freezer combination units have one common compressor and coolant for both units. If the refrigerator section is not getting cold I would check the following.
The cold zone is not blocked by a bag or box? The cold zone would be the coldest part of the refrigerator which vents the cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator.
Is the fan working on the refrigerator to vent the cold air to the refrigerator? You should be able to hear it when you hold the door switch.
The thermostat is not working which I have found most common is the thermistor is not registering the correct temperature causing the fan not to turn on.

electromechanical devices that can be used to turn the water
to the ice maker on/off and also operate the door/screw that
dispenses ice.It could also be a fan or motor that is making
the noise.
