Ingersoll Rand 2100G air impact wrench turns when air is hooked up. I can stop it by hand and then use it with the trigger, and it works fine, but it continues to run even when I let the trigger go. What...

The I.R. 2100G shares parts with the 2135 series impact, the throttle valve seal on these models have a tendency to wear out or deteriorate casing the throttle valve to by pass air. On the model 2100G the parts in question is only sold as an assembly (item# 22).
But you can disassemble the inlet bushing and install an inlet parts kit p/n 2135-K303, it includes all the necessary parts.
I will provide to links for you to look at

I have model 261 3/4 in drive impact gun. When in tighten mode it doesn't work all the time. It does work and then it doesn't, all you hear is air.

Air motors have plastic fins in them that make it turn. They slide in and out of slots on the motor. You can tear it apart and clean them, but if you don't put all parts back in just right, gun will not work at all. I usually try to run wd-40 thru the gun. It is messy, but the more the better. You can also use carb cleaner (brake cleaner will eat paint, rubber, anything pastic) and then oil with air tool oil. Careful of the cleaner it is flammable!

get some air tool oil and put it in the hose connection and manually turn the socket end by hand, the air vanes have frozen in place and can't hold the air in to operate the unit, make sure when you do this squeeze thge trigger to let the oil into the units barrel, then connect to an air supply and try it,you may need to help get it started by hand, then let it run and add some more air tool oil again to keep it lubed

My Aircat 1404BG impact gun stopped working.

most of the problems accure from being dry try 2 or 3 drops through the air intake fitting every so often depening how much you use your air tools, it may be time for a new one but i would try the air tool oil first before bying a new one, i hope i helped.

hope it's just lack of oil, oil impact wrench prior to each use. Use air tool oil and pour in where you attatch hose, hold trigger in so that it goes inside. About 1 tablespoon, without oil torque of impact wrench will diminish to nothing. Hope this helps

IR 261 air wrench vanes sticking

NOT exactly a solution, but may help you with your problem: I'm also a Owner of a 261 ( In fact 90% 0f all my Air Tools are IR) that I used everyday when I was working on Terex Equipment & EMD Locomotives. I "Upgraded" the Major Parts inside my Gun to the "Industrial Line" rather than the Automotive Parts since the 261 is classified as a Automotive Tool..and Installing an Adjustable Regulator on the Gun Helped a Lot "tweeking" my Gun out, I was Pumping almost as much torque as some of the 1" Guns...
FYI: Don't Over Oil as the Oil will absorb into the Vanes, causing them to Expand in thickness "Permanently"...just 2-3 drops of a Hi-Grade Air Tool Oil before starting the Day is enough...sounds to me like your Picking up some contamination someplace??
