Question about Cuisinart CPT-50 Heat Surround Toaster
I have an old Cuisinart CPT-50 Toaster, with motorized bread lowering and lifting. I loved the toaster for the two years or so that it worked. It been years since it did work. The Motor Rise feature is still operational. However, it does not heat at all. This toaster does not use conventional heating coils. It uses something call Heat Surround. Can it be fixed?

no solution, problem, my lever (sometimes) will stay down, sometimes not, but it makes a loud "ractething" noise many times when the lever is pushed down>

Do any of the lights come on ?
If not then have you checked the plug top fuse
If the lights come on and then when you press the lever down it does not latch a solenoid has gone open circuit
Good toasters can be fixed
Cheap ones go in the trash bin

We're not the manufacturer of consumer products, but rather a group of regular people that have expertise about certain products and how to service and repair them locate manuals and schematics, etc.
With that in mind, here's an online copy of the manual for your toaster that you can download for free, directly from the Cuisinart web site that will get you by until you can obtain one from the manufacturer directly.
I'd save a copy on your computer and then you can print it out, if you wish. You can also contact Cuisinart directly and request a manual be mailed to you, as it wasn't included with your toaster.
You can either email or call them. Their toll free phone number is 1-800-211-9604. If you wish, you can also visit the customer support info at this link: http://www.cuisinart.com/support/us.html
I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

We opened up our toaster and scraped some baked-on crumbs off the top of the electromagnet that controls the carriage catch. When we closed it back up, it worked again.
