Paper jams every single print job!

I own 2 CLP-315 printers and they both jam every single time I print. I only use 20lb paper, envelopes, or laser checks...I bought them at Office Depot last year...love the design, but how can I fix this ongoing issue???

I have found the CLP-315 to be difficult with envelopes. However, I have been able to get it to print them when I load only a few into the tray at a time, ensure that they are pushed all the way up to the front, and the "guide rails" (plastic blue things) are pushed up gently against the side and back. This has worked for me with 4 1/8 x 9 1/2 envelopes. Shorter envelopes might be more tricky since the rear guardrail does not push up far enough.

Factors that affect it for me:

  • the moisture: keep it sealed till it goes into the printer, store it in a cupboard with a low-wattage bulb to dry it
  • which way up the paper goes in (feel the surface of the paper carefully with a finger tip - faces are usually smoother or not)
  • the grade of paper: mine won't use paper I have printed on already
  • change brand of paper,
  • only one type of paper in tray

CLP-310. paper jammed and it can't be removed. Can the roller be removed to get the paper out? that's the only way the jammed paper is going to come out.

I would recommend that you take it to a authorized printer repair shop and have them remove the paper. Printers have sensors that if not properly installed upon servicing the machine it will give error codes and stop the unit from printing.
When I have paper jams on my printers I always pull the paper from the discharge side to prvent any sensors being bent or broken. Good Luck!!!

Hi my samsung clp 310 printer regularly jams paper halfway to completion. ....

Hi

Please look at the printer properties under Paper, you will see that the type of paper used can be chosen.

1. This apparently makes the printer behave differently when the default is not chosen.

For example, when I choose Thick Paper, the printer feeds the paper inside the printer much slower than when default is chosen. This, most likely, is done to prevent the paper from jamming up somewhere inside from feeding too quickly.

Therefore, if one is finding that their printer is constantly having a paper jam, changing the paper type may have positive results.

2. Heat maybe another source of paper jams. Although there is no paper jammed in the laser printer, the laser printer may stop printing due from overheating. Therefore, if heat is the culprit, changing the paper type may not work.

Hope this helps !

DIY video tutorial on how to repair the Samsung CLP-315, CLP-301 laser printer "paper jam" problem, where the paper stops printing about halfway through for no apparent reason. My printer worked great otherwise, but was out of warranty. It would have been less expensive to get a new printer.

The problem is a very cheap sensor.

This repair takes 15 minutes and is inexpensive. Read the comments below.

I got the part from SamsungParts.com. Search for part #0604-001393

thanks :)

Hi,

most likly hood is your exit sensor is faulty. The printer work in this way. if it does not print out all the document. it will print again. that is why you kept getting this same issue after a jam open and close door it will print again.

replace the exit sensor it will help.

My piece of cardstock paper keeps jamming barely out of the tray. is there something i can do to have it go all the way through. I have a samsung clp-315 laser printer.

Yes, you have to change the print properties on the computer to let the printer know it is using cardstock. Please refer to the owners manual to get the information. The manual can be found at www.samsung.com under the support section.

Hello,

It sounds like your fuser is causing the jame,.

when you remove the paper can you wipe the toner off the page or does it adhear to the paper ?

If it does not the fuser is causing the jam, if the toner does not wipe off the paper then the feed tires would be the cause of your jam

The fuser is at the back of the printer and will be very hot, so be careful.
