We have tried all of the solutions and the Honda dealership cannot give us any answers either because they can't figure it out.

Well actually there's a faster way to do this, online on Honda's site. You just go through a simple verification process.

Disconnect the radio and remove the battery cable (negative) for about 20 seconds and replace it,see if it will start. Also after doing this set alarm, then disarm it,and try again to start it.

Take it to an autoelectric shop where they have the diagnostic tools and the knowledge to pinpoint this issue. the radio and the security system are tied to gether. often an inexperienced radio installer does screw it up and it takes a pro to straighten it out

Hi. There is no issue in installing the car stereo. Have you tried changing the battery of your alarm key? If yes, then you need a new alarm system since the sensor of your alarm is not recognizing the key anymore. That is why when you start the engine your car wont start. This means that the car is still armed with alarm. And sometimes also as you mentioned, you have to lock and unlock the doors using the key. Try to change the battery first before buying a new alarm.

It is a brand new alarm that goes on the key ring from the Honda dealership.

Hi,

I donot see much connection between the sterio and the car not starting. I would recomend you to see for the basic reasons why the car is not starting in the first place.

http://www.familycar.com/carrepair/nostart.htm

Battery connection , spark are the major reasons for not starting.

If you donot have further queiries please donot forget to accept the solution.

MOST ALL CARS BOTH IMPORT AND DOMESTIC CARS FROM 1996 - 2010 HAVE ANTI THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM.THE RADIO ALSO PART OF THE THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM. WHEN YOU PUT ANOTHER RADIO IN CAR THE THEFT SYSTEM AND PCM DONT RECOGNIZE THE RADIO.SO IT SHUT THE CAR DOWN.BEST WHEN YOU REPLACE RADIO GO TO DEALERSHIP THEY HAVE TO PUT A NEW ONE IN AND REPROGRAM IT.

HI! I suspect that the anti theft itself is faulty and in need of replacement. But before replacement please try this, remove the battery connectors and let it sit for atleast 5mins. Put the battery connectors again and see how it goes. This should reset the system, if nothings changed I believe its time to replace the anti theft system. HOpe this helps and have a good one!

Hi,as a result of some bad connections in the wiring system of your car,the factory security system has been distorted, which means the entire security system needs to be overhauled and reprogrammed to restore your car back to a normal working condition, however this can only be done in a honda automobile workshop accredited by honda themselves because the security system needs to be reprogrammed from the honda database.

Thanks and take care

1998 Honda Accord replaced ignition wiring 2 weeks ago had no problems. Now I can't start. It cranks but won't start. No green Key light on dash at all now.

Replace the ignition switch that screws onto the back of the lock cylinder, they were a very common problem and actually subject to a recall. You could phone a nearby honda dealership with your VIN number and they may replace it for free.

My son's 1997 Honda Accord has an aftermarket stereo that works but his cigarette lighter doesn't. Could it be a fuse?

The thing is, whoever hooked up the stereo would know for sure where the connected into in order to get power to the stereo. If they went off somewhere ealse other than what the factory made to be the power for the stereo it would make sense. In the accord for your year the power to the stereo and the cigarette lighter is the same fuse if it was hooked to the same wiring that came with the vehicle. They may have by accident disconnected the lighter and it's just not hooked up at all. You can check the fuse for the cigarette lighter if you would like. that fuse is in the fuse panel located in the engine compartment and will be in the number 18 position and sould be a 15 amp fuse ( see diagram of the layout of fuses below). If that fuse is bad and corrects the problem then they hooked up to another power source when they hooked up the stereo. I hope this helps you and good luck.

1998 honda accord wont start was told its fuel relay inside carunder dash behind fuse box

that would depend. if its the main relay, it would drive normally, but then if you park and turn your car off. when you go to start it again immediately after, it wont. but if it cools a couple of minutes, it will. can you give a little bit more detail on what exactly does it do? like turn over, doesn't turn over? starts and dies? would like to help. goodluck
