Hi, if you are having trouble with the freezer working fine but the refrigerator not cooling then the defrost has not cleared all the ice in the coils. Try a manual defrost by unplugging your refrigerator and let it sit for a couple of hours to clear the ice. Plug it back in and see if it re-ice's in a short amount of time. Over a week or two. If so then you may need to have your defrost timer replaced. This process can save you hundreds in service charges.

Take care

Hi, Refrigerator not cooling, is ice forming on back of side-by-side freezer?

Turn off unit. Empty freezer section. Remove freezer back panel (4
screws) to expose iced-over coils. Use a fan to speed up defrosting.
Put a towel or a plastic drip pan in the bottom of the freezer to
collect melting water (rather than letting the water collect and maybe
overflowing in the drip pan underneath the refrigerator).

After defrosting, by temporarily replacing the freezer back panel and
turning on the unit, the refrigerator may operate OK for about 3 weeks
before the next excessive ice build up.

Possible problem- a burned out Defrost Heater.

To check: After defrosting, turn off power to or unplug the refrigerator.

Unscrew the Defrost Heater bracket (2 screws). When loose, unplug the
two wires connected to the unit. Have the unit checked, or use an
ohm-meter to check continuity. If unit measures "open", high
resistance, replace the Defrost Heater and bracket. If the heating
element shows continuity (or low resistance) the heater is probably OK
    and you have another problem.

    Take care

Hello,

please answer these question !
so that you can then follow this advice below as a guild line

his your freezer newly but with guaranty or warranty if you r answer is YES and the agreement date is still on . then what you need to do is that return the freezer back to the store for replacement or service i.e for fix up it will be free off change together with the agreement form, i mean your receipt

but if the answer is NO then you have to do the fixing up your self by changing the condenser of the fridge
your statement tell that the condenser is bad i.e thereis a leakage some were around it were gas flow out freely

it's this condenser that pass out gas from the compressor to the freezer it self
please note information the condenser is in form of net at the back of the your fridge and it always in black colour , do change this then your freezer will work out find again

Thank you and thanks for using fixya.
