Hi,

PF stands for power failure, meaning the power to the appliance was lost or the control board thinks power was lost temporarily.

The other code is below. Try turning the circuit breaker off for a minute or two then back on, if this does not fix the problem you will need to have the circuit board replaced.

Kenmore ultra bake self cleaning super capacity electric oven is showing the letters pf in red what could this mean?

PF usually just refers to power failure. You should only have to reset your clock and then check to make sure everything else works.

My frigidaire oven overheated last night, we unplugged it and replugged this morning with a PF on the face. The plastic has melted a little. What should we do?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire range overheated, so you unplugged it and plugged it in the next morning. I also see that when you plugged it back in there was a "PF" code displayed as well as some melted plastic. The "PF" code means that there was a power failure. You can clear that by pressing any button. As far as your appliance overheating and melting plastic, I suggest contacting the manufacturer directly for further assistance. They might be able to point you in the right direction to have it repaired. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

No the top heater elements don't come on. At the digital readout give a message of err PF5.

Hi.

PF means power failure. and it is not an error code.

To reset the PF code:

Hold down Clock or Bake pad (depending on model) for up to ten seconds.

If that does not work, trip circuit breaker, or disconnect power for one minute.

If still no luck, then it is worth a call to manufacturer, at the number listed on the owners manual.

You may get error PF5 when there is a wiring problem, sometimes after a self cleaning cycle damage, or when there is door lock failure.

Oven wont unlock has a pf code? cant open the door!

Hi,

PF refers to Power Failure.Press Cancel and Check, if that clears the error. If the problem persists, it might be a Faulty Control Board.

Now,

Before that, as you never mentioned Did you try to use Self-Cleaning? If yes follow the below procedure :-

1. Unplug the Circuit Breaker for 5 minutes.Turn On the breaker and then try to open the door.

2. Again go for self clean option but for few minutes, say 15 minutes.Cancel the self self after this and allow the Oven to Cool. After some time, then try to open the door.

Let me know, if need further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

I am getting a PF code - I have a self cleaning - accubake system electric silver with black top and sides - not sure how old the oven is

Hi,

the "PF" simply indicates at some point the power to the unit failed, hence the "PF" (power failure). turn the range breaker off for a minute or two, or unplug it for said amount of time. after that if you push the cancel bottun on the control it should go away, then you can set the time of day/clock etc.

If that doesn't get it right, make another post on here and we'll go from there.

hopefully it's that simple :)

good luck
