YES MOST DO TO RUN LIGHTS. YOU NEED TO SNOOP AROUND YOUR CAMPER TO SEE IF IT HAS A PLACE FOR A BATTERY. SHOULD BE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE CAMPER.. NOT GOOD TO HAVE IT INSIDE OF CAMPER UNLESS IT A SEALED BATTERY, BATTERY'S LIKE A CAR BATTER GIVE OF HYDROGEN GAS AND CAN EXPLODE VIOLENTLY SO IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT ADDNG A BATTERY PUT IT ON THE FRONT HITCH ASSEMBLY AND USE A FUSE THAT MATCH THE SIZE WIRE AND LOAD.. YOUR LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE CAN HELP YOU WITH ALL THE THINGS NEEDED RIGHT DOWN TO THE 12V FLOAT CHARGER OR MAYBE EVEN SOLAR ! GOOD LUCK AND I'FN I WAS ANY HELP PRAISE IS APPRECIATED .. Is this a six way plug (six round holes)? If there are six wires coming from the trailer, then the color code should be as follows:

White - Ground
Brown - Tail Lights
Yellow - Left Turn
Red - Stop
Green - Right Turn
Blue - Auxiliary Circuit (Battery Charge, Electric Brakes, etc...)

If you open the plug up that was cut, it is labeled as to which goes where.
TM = Tail Lights
RT = Right Turn
LT = Left Turn
S = Stop
G = Ground
Center = Auxiliary

Call dealer & ask them to run your vin# to see if it came with towing package. They shouldn't mind. If not, you'll have to wire it in yourself.

Auxiliary battery use

The extra battery is there because of the glow plugs and intake heater of the duramax. During cold weather both of these systems draw high amperage from the batteries. A single battery will function, but not as well as a pair.
