Question about Brother DCP-7020 All-In-One Laser Printer

Brother DCP 7020 laser printer just had drum replaced and life set back to 100%. Still the print output is shaded in the middle and toner is still 2/3 full. What else can I try? Please hurry.

Toner worked fine in DCP7020 for over a month and just yesterday started becoming shaded in the middle -- that is, lighter streaks in the middle. Toner, when replaced with another, now prints fine. We just feel that it is not the toner or it would have done this from the moment it was installed in the printer. Please let me know what you think.

Very helpful. I was trying to help a chiropractic office so they could print out their monthly statements. We're all good now. Thanks.

Hi,

Try doing these following things with your old toner.

1. Stick the black electrical tape over the two eyes of your printer sensor, which detect cartridge toner inside.

2. And again move ur cartridge gear like white button to the circular left side. This can be easily done by opening cartridge left side small cover.

Now take a print.
If you still get shaded prints then your toner is empty and you will have to replace it with new one.
Thanks for using Fixya.
Good Luck and have a nice day.

You can check the toner position if it is aligned or so called Printer alignment. That might be the cause why the output is shaded on the middle. You can also check the individual toners if they can print properly or their printing capabilities is spread out. If it still did not work, then please have your printer repaired on your respective repair center..

Remove the drum and toner from the front cover of the machine. On the top right of the drum unit there is a tab that you can slide. Please slide it 20 times from left to right and bring it back to home position.
