Question about IBM Lenovo ThinkPad T61 Notebook

1 Answer

My ThinkPad T61 worked just fine until yesterday. Now, there is no Blue (RGB) on my LCD linked with a standard VGA cable (the laptop's LCD colors are ok, the problem is with output). I've reinstalled the video driver - didn't work, then I've reinstalled Windows 7, but I'm still having the same problem. Can you please help me?

The pins are ok, I've shearched all day on the internet and it seems (probably) that it's NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M - new driver problem. I couldn't find an old driver for Nvidia on IBM Thinkpad t61 so I can't tell for sure if that is the problem. Please let me know if you have any other solutions. Thank you.

P.S. I've tried also with another cables, witch had no problem with the pins.
The key words for my problem are - Green tint on eexternal monitor.

I would like to connect my lenovo thinkpad t61 to an insignia t.v. both the t.v. & laptop have vga ports. what else would i need to connect the two & what is the process? thanks for your he

The laptop will provide a VGA output and your TV should be able to switch to "Computer" or "VGA" input so all you need is a 15pin VGA lead. Just ensure you get the correct gender.

Ibm thinkpad wont connect to LG TV

Lower the screen resolution to 720 dpi.

Another issue is the reference to RGB. Is it the 3 cable (YPBPR) or the standard 15 pin VGA? You may need a converter.

Connected my laptop to Toshiba 27AF45 tv with VGA cable and RGB but it does not display properly - shows color and rolling black lines. Any suggestions?

Hello
VGA [Video Graphics Arrey] and RGB [Red-Green-Blue] sockets are not compactable, and will not get a proper display. You must have a converter [VGA=>RGB] is needed in between. Ok

Extended my monitor to a Vizio 37" LCD TV Echoed Sound

You have an HDMI connection on a Thinkpad T20???
Per definition, HDMI is supposed to send video and audio data from the TV to the PC -so, yes, it should work.

I say "should", because I tried to hook up my PC that way and I went back to a VGA connection (and sent the sound to an old stereo), because the resolution was awful.
I rather think that the audio cable is the culprit here - if the connectors are not fitting perfectly, they can create a lot of distortion.

Also check your audio settings on the PC (updated driver, settings not on maximum volume, etc.)

If you want to try HDMI, there is no need to get the ultra expensive "Monster" cable. Look here for an example.

Insignia LCD tv 32".....

It's either the VGA cable you are using has a bad pin or the RGB/Color Scheme is set wrong. So try another VGA cable or try the LCDTV on another PC.
