The software is only availible from Kenwood. the only way to get it is to purchase the registration key from them for that software. Sorry, I program radios everyday and even the company I work for has to purchase the Registration keys.

the manual from the manufacturer is pretty much useless. every time i wanted to do something with mine all the manual said was "see a sales rep or dealer!" i have the software (windows version) that has a pretty good help file in it. you may want to check out the yahoo boards for kenwood.

These radios can be programmed via the keypad. However, this
option must be enabled through the software, and must have a component
removed from the circuit board. If you have a radio that will not go
into self-programming mode when you use the proper key combination
(light button+dial button while turning the radio on), your radio has
not been enabled for this option.
