Most likely it's your Recovery Partition. You should not use a recover partition for anything. It should be left alone. The only time you use is if you need to restore your computer to factory settings - the way it was when it was bought brand new. To access the recovery console you have to press the key that is indicated for "recovery" when you first boot up. Some recovery consoles\partitions work alittle differently than that - every computer is different.

It might be a partition on your c drive, open my computer and see if you can access it. in most cases it is a restore drive just in case of a crash

Hard Disc D:\ is a supplement to your C:\ drive. It is either another physical drive, or it is simply another partition.

I have aspire v5 Acer model computer and anything I do the computer fights me all the way and when you click on icons on the tab bar they don't open how do you speak up the load time on my computer

remove all seldom used installed programs
using the device manager get to disc management and defrag the disc
add another ram stuck if possible
if you have a disc type hard drive (HDD) , it could be coming to the end of it's service life so make sure you have all of your files and folders backed up on external hard drive
IF that is the case replace it with a solid state hard drive SSHD) ( no spinning parts , -quicker in response )
take it to a computer repair shop for a systems performance check

Operating system not found

No, you won't get the OS to automatically install on the new drive. The OS is not stored in the BIOS chip (or a similar permanent location inside the computer). You will need an OS install disc (not an upgrade disc). Windows Vista Home Premium or Basic was the original OS on most of the Acer Aspire 4530 series. Acer appears to have drivers for the system for XP through Windows 7 to get the hardware to work. You will need to have these most of these ready before you install your OS. Put them on a flash drive or optical disc using another computer.

This computer may work with Unix as well. However, driver issues may be a factor. You can try most versions of Unix from a CD (LiveCD) to test it out.

When you get a new hard drive, install it into the laptop. Then put the OS disk in the optical drive bay. Boot to the optical drive. Follow the directions for formatting the hard drive and installing the OS. (Of course you will need a drive that doesn't have a higher capacity than the BIOS supports.) The motherboard needs to recognize the drive.

If you find a member of a Windows User Group, they may have Windows install discs available. The license number on the label of your computer will probably work as your license key. (The key for a computer like this is locked to the CPU and motherboard; unless someone upgraded the OS to Windows 7 or downgraded to XP, this should be the key you need.) Use the information on the label to obtain the correct version of Vista (the Basic install disc may not work for installing Home Premium). You also need to match the 32-bit or 64-bit install disc (and the service pack you need).

I hope this helps.

(An Acer recovery disc wouldn't help you. Most of those are completely locked to the original hardware (including hard drive) and look for the recovery partition that was on that hard drive.)

How do i replace hard drive on my acer veriton 3600gt

Depending on the hard drive, it may need to be 'initialized' before the computer can recognize it. This is best done by putting the hard drive in a working computer and going to, if using Windows, right-click My Computer, select Manage and clicking Disc Management where you will see the uninitialized drive.
You will need to create a partition and format it. Then your Acer should see it.
If you don't have a second computer then you will need to insert an operating installation disc in the drive and have that operating system's software format the disc.

ACER 5810T LAPTOP DISC DRIVE WILL NOT WORK

First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.Next - to check if the harddrive is faulty, remove the hard drive and insert it into an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a workingcomputer's USB port. If this computer cannot see itas an USB mass storage device and you cannot open the various folders and fileson this drive, then this confirms the hard drive is faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.

It looks like there's a 500GB drive out there for it, so I'm going to guess you can at least go to 500.

Take a look at this. They guarantee 100% compatibility it seems:

COMPUTER PROBLEM

You're computer is still good and will work fine after an operating system reload. You can order a set of recovery discs directly from Acer, or you can purchase an operating system disc from Walmart or Bestbuy, either way will work. Keep in mind that if you order recovery discs from Acer that the operating system and the drivers for your machine will be included. If you just purchase an operating system disc, then you will have to go to Acer's support site and down load any drivers that you need after the install. Also, check in the set up to see if the machine is still recognizing the hard drive. If it doesn't, you may have crashed the drive during the interruption.
