The error stack trace which you have mentioned is specific to the code which you have written and it seems there is some problem with the code which you have written and not with server or anything else. So there is no common specif solution.
"this.password = member.Password;"
In the above line of code, you are trying to use "this" operator which specifies the current object which invoked the function. Your error shows that "this" object is null and not having proper object instance assigned.
so try creating new object using "new" operator and call your function with reference to that object which your created.
public void funtiontest()
//new object created
test obj1 = new test();
//function is called with reference to the obj created
private void function1()
//your code where this operator references to the called object "obj1"
this.password = member.Password;
