You can download the Quick Start Guide and the Operating Instructions from the manufacturer's web site at http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=ICD-UX80&region_id=1 and print them yourself.

How do I increase the overall loudness of a CD once it has been burned

What you need to do is find an option called "normalise" this makes the sound at the same level for all tracks on the CD. However I should point out that even some commercial discs are recorded at much greater levels then are needed. In otherwords they are loud!

I'm trying to burn a song to a CD-R using a Boss BR 1180 but every time it completes, there's no song on the CD. I record, bounce, record on 9/10, then try to write to CD and it never works.

"it never works"... this is NOT enough information for us. You are not telling us how the CD is tested. If you are testing it in a boombox type player, that is not a test. First thing is to look at the bottom of the CD to see if you can detect written tracks... with right lighting you can tell if it has been burned. REMEMBER that CD's, unlike phonograph records, are written from the middle outward. Many consumer players have trouble playing CD's that are written but not "finalized". If you CAN see written area (compare to unburned CD) then likely the burning is taking place, and the problem is the format is either not complete or incompatible with your player. Try reading the disk in your computer. Also you might want to visit the forums for the Boss/Roland workstations at VSPLANET.com.

When I use a Maxell DVD, everytime I enter the disc, it automatically formats the disc again. The record digital reading also does not look the same as with other discs.

U using DVD+R DVD disc? Not possible the DVD+R DVD disc to be reformat,it only can be burn and written data's into the disc only one time to the DVD+R disc. Are u using DVD+RW DVD this disc can be reformat, but DVD+RW DVD disc doesn't reformat by itself. It can't.The DVD+RW DVD disc data's only can be over written with new data's putting into it.

Where do i get sony driver for 1cd-bp150 for vista?

Sony: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=ICDBP150 does not list Vista drivers but the Windows XP drivers will likely work fine; there is no advantage to drivers explicitly written for Vista.

In case you encounter any problems with using drivers written for an older operating system, use the Microsoft Windows Compatibility mode for the software: i.e. "right click" on the link to run the program, choose "properties", then the "Compatibility" tab and select to the program in a mode compatible with the operating system for which the drivers were written.

I used a sony cam corder to record an event last night. The image is corrupted. there are solid grey bars running across the screen. Is there anything I can do about this?

Yes, its symptom of dirty/ clogged video heads in camcorder.
Put head cleaning tape in camcorder and clean video head as per instructions written on tape material.
Head cleaning tapes are available in radio Shake or any other store.
Thanks.

Have an acer laptop, using nero 7 burning software, have a tsst corp cd dvdw l632h burner - try to put iso files on to disc - used to work but suddenly it now says it has recorded but - disc is still blank...

There can be 2 possibilities:
1)the location of the recording is set to image by mistake and not the disc. if the location is set to image--then the files will be written to some folder on your hard disk itself .it must be given the proper disk location or path for files to be recorded on disc.this happens in most cases .
2)may be the lens is weak and the files are not actually getting recorded on disk.to verify this you can select the option called: "verify disc on data after burning" .this is the option you get just before you press the burn button.this will help you verify if the files are getting written on the disc or not.if the verification process fails then it means that the recorder has some fault writing to the disc.which needs to be checked and repaired
This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya.

I would like to try for the first time to record a DVD on my HP nx5000 Notebook. On a label enclosed with the blanks I have purchased I read: ?Use of this disc in incompatible recorders may lead to...

Hi there.
Yes of course you can use that disk to burn to, most recorders these days don't get damaged and can write to just about any disk which is on the market.
The message that comes with the blank disks is just a generic message which covers the disk manufacturer from liability, if the disk is incompatible then the recorder will not write to it, it will not damage the recorder.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

Lost instructions how to use rca digital voice recorder rp5120-A

Go to RCA web site, look for download or support or alike (don't remember exactly), after a few steps, it has Adobe manuals for 5010, 5012, 5020. I have downloaded them.
