I recently relocated my computer and when all set up and turned on, screen is black except for a window showing this title: "CHECK VIDEO CABLE OR INPUT SELECT" it used to make three short consecutive beeps every minute or so. I tried disconnecting all cables and plug back CPU, monitor and mouse. The beeps were gone, but still black screen and same message. What am I missing? Your help is greatly appreciated

Step 1: Using the Troubleshooting tool in Windows 8
The Troubleshooting tool in Windows 8 can automatically fix common problems with your computer, such as audio recording. Although it may not fix every problem, it is useful to run the Troubleshooting tool first before you manually correct problems.
To open the Troubleshooting tool:
At the Start screen, type find and fix audio to open the Search charm.

Have you cleaned the fan, vents, heatsink recently? Does the Laptop overheat? Is the Laptop booting? Fan spins? Sound? LED's blink? I can tell much from the video. In a bright light can you see a "ghost image" of the desktop? Do you feel comfortable opening the Laptop? If so, there are a few things you can check.
if you hear the windows log in sound it means the display is t blame and most likely the back-light inverter is out and need to be changed or some contact wire.. In this case you need to open it and change the inverter or change the display . If it does show a few devices and the logo screen when you open it ..and after that when it boots up in windows it shows the black screen ..it is a video card settings error and you need to either reinstall windows or try to boot in safe mode and reinstall the graphic card .. In this case it is nothing wrong physically .. but just a setting made is unsupported and this causes the lack of image .. Also if it is just the back light inverter you should have an idea of image if you look real carefully .. its kinda like a shadow .. and if this scenario is happens and you have a shadow image it means there is nothing wrong with the display itself but just the back light inverter is dead.. and will be cheaper to replace .. let me know what you've managed to do ..
Very doubtful. Either you have a defective or corrupt display driver, or possibly a malware infection. Is that a laptop or notebook computer? If so, is there a VGA port for an external monitor? If do, try using a known good external monitor.
Place the document or image into the scanner for scanning. A scanner with a paper feeder will only receive flat papers and photographs, but a flatbed scanner opens to accommodate books, fabrics and leaves along with flat papers. There is even a attachment for feeding photo slides into flatbed scanners.
Start the scanning software. If the scanner does not engage the software automatically, press the "start" or "scan" button, or click the scanner icon on the computer screen to initialize the software.
Activate the scan. Click the "file" menu and select "acquire," "import," or another practical choice that applies.
Preview the item to be scanned. Most scanners have a preview option. This will show the scan area inside dotted lines. The lines can be moved with the mouse to relocate, enlarge or crop the scanning area.
Set the resolution for images by number of dots per inch (dpi). For computer screen viewing, 100 dpi should suffice. Use 200 to 300 dpi for items to be printed.
Use the appropriate setting for scanning black and white text. If the scanner does not show a preset for text, use "line art" or "black and white" at 300 dpi. Then use the optical character recognition (OCR) program to convert the image of the text into a file for word processi
When booting up press f8, go into safe-mode. See if the screen still behaves the same way, If so... I don't think there is much that can be done except using an external monitor on the laptop.
But if it looks ok, I would set the display settings resolution to 1024x768 and freq. hz to 60
In safe-mode you may not be able to set to 1024 but have it set to something in safe-mode so when you reboot it the normal mode it will have reset some of the display settings and hopefully fixed that for you. If the problem persists, check on the freq hz setting and try to go as low as possible, probably 60hz.
this is the way how to examine where the problem is. You
have to check that you can see the image on screen by shining a flashlight into
the screen, not directly but find the best angle to the screen and take a look
very closely. If you can see the icons (Power on both cpu and monitor), there
will be a minor problem. Like me, I can see window image using flashlight and
check lamps inside. Some of them were broken. They are easily replaced. If you cannot see any icon on the
screen. I would say that there are some problems with inverter board. If you
have soldering tool and want to fix it by yourself, check the caps first. It
may cause this problem. Some caps might show leaking or dark spot on the board
because of too high temp. If you don't have soldering tool, you better go get a
technician to do so.
have you tried to uninstall the vedio driver and reinstall it then let me know.go to my computer icon right click it > go to properties >hardware tab > device manager and check if there is any yellow mark showing.kindly do this in starting your computer in safe mode.
