Seeing as how its an older laptop, your best option would be to get a wireless USB G network adapter, it plugs into a USB port on your laptop, then get a wireless G router to match up with your wireless G Network USB adapter. Stick with Belkin if you can since they have been reliable from my own experience. Get a Belkin Wireless G Router and a Belkin wireless G USB Network Adapter. At that point you'll have wireless access and it will run you under $100 dollars.

How do I get this prehistoric Toshiba Satellite 1400-S151 to work with wireless? Do I need a wireless card or something completely different? When it click on the wireless icon on the lower right hand...

1st.: check to see if there is a wireless button on the outside of the computer. Some have this option to turn it on/off and it's easily overlooked by many.

2nd.: Right click "my compuer" and go to manage. Go to "device manager" and find your card under the "network adapter" tab. If it is disabled, double click it to enable it. If it has a yellow flag on it, you will need to download and update the driver.

Which wireless card for Toshiba Satellite 1905-S301??

Lots of incompatibilities and covering pin 13 does NOT solve the problem with this series laptops. Get the MPC13A-20/R 802.11b card - it works wonderfully well, even though it's only a 'b' card.

I have a Toshiba lap top A 105. I have lost my internet

It is possible to disable the wireless connection with the keyboard. Try the combination of Fn and F8 buttons (this is a common Toshiba shortcut) to turn it back on. If that doesn't work, look at your Network Connections (through the Control Panel, assuming a Windows OS, if needed). Check the settings and if it is enabled. In the device manager, check if the wireless adapter has an exclamation point in a yellow triangle. If you have the exclamation point try letting Windows repair the driver. (You may need to access the Toshiba website for the correct driver. Either use a different machine and put the driver on a disc or USB driver or your machine's wired connection.) If that tells you it has no problems, remove the wireless connection (and uninstall the driver) and reboot the computer and it should see new hardware and start reinstalling the driver. Then you can try to establish a new wireless connection.

If the above solutions do not help, it's likely to be a hardware failure. You could get a new wireless adapter (USB or an appropriate card for your laptop add-on card slot), use the wired network (if that has worked), or consider a new machine.

Toshiba Satellite M35X-S109 wireless problem... will not see wireless.. says turn on ... how do i turn on wireless it worked yesterday

Hi,
You can press the Fn key + F2 to enable the wireless card.
The other way to do the same , would be through wireless switch located either on the left of right of the laptop.

You can also try restarting the computer, sometimes the driver for the wireless card can casue the conflict.

Thanks for using fixya

Not enough info per problem description. Not all 1900 series laptops have wireless cards installed, and not all 1900 series laptops are ready to handle wireless cards, either. Need to know what model your computer is, what wireless card you're using, ... C'mon. Let's have it...

Basically they don't. They can be purchased and easily installed by opening the cover that contains it and inserting it just like inserting memory and then connecting the white and grey wires to the wireless card.

Toshiba Satellite M40 Internal Wireless Card replacement

On the bottom of the laptop there will most likely be 2 panels to remove. One will be the hard drive, the other will be your RAM modules and most likely your wireless card. It'll probably be in the middle. Open this up, your wireless card will have two wires plugged into it that you'll have to unplug. Then on each side there is a tab that you have to click outward, then the card will flip up. Then you can just pull it outward. Do the reverse for installing the new card.
