0x0000005 is not a common error plus most of the time this error popped up was several years back. So I would also like to know that the error statement that you get with the BSOD is as well. This help me better see what is going on. If you are sure where the error statement is this link will show you what to look for. Also let me know the version of Windows that you are running.

Since you are getting the error after you run the restore ether there was a problem with your restore and/or you are having a hard ware problem with the system.

I would like you to boot you computer and press F12. Once at the boot menu select the diagnostics to test the system.

Let me know any errors you may get.

When you ran the restore did you do it of the recovery partition on the computer. If yes do you also have the actual recovery CDs.

It sounds like there is a issue with the recovery that you ran.

Which OS do you have? Have you tried booting to safe mode?. Restart the computer. Immediately after the BIOS post ends, start tapping the F8 key repeatedly. when Windows Advanced Options menu appears, select safe mode and see whether it boots completely without blue screen(BSOD)

Can't get to load operating programs and can't shut it down to reboot.

Press F8 while rebooting and select start at "last known good configuration" or "safe mode"
good luck!

hi blinkgirl556

was there a new hardware that was added to your laptop? bluescreens often are caused by hardware.
while the laptop is booting up when you are asked for options on how to start you computer is there an option for start windows using last known configuration? if there is try that and if it still goes into bluescreen you may want to try and recover your laptop using the hp recovery cd or recovery tool. if it still doesn't work most likely you have a bad memory chip.

hope this helps

HP had blue screen and said it would shut down. Problem is that it does turn off, so that it can be re-booted. Have tried to shut off PC, but continues to come on and not start.

Hold the power button in for 10 to 15 seconds for hard shut down if that doesn't work unplug power for about 5 minutes then plug power back in and see what happens

Blue ecreen error, system shuts down

Hi.

Blue screen means that an exception handling memory or a different computer resource has ocurred.

Blue screen error often occurrs when the sytem is corrupt.

Usually it is possible to fix the problem reinstalling Windows operative system.

Before reinstalling Windows you can try starting the system in safe mode (try F8 on startup). If system starts in safe mode, do a system restore to a recent date before having the problem.

Windows can be reinstalled using either factory recovery disk or a generic Windows setup disk in conjunction with a valid Microsoft licence number.

In case reinstalling Windows does not fix the problem, even if there are more hardware faults that can cause the problem, the first culprit is usually RAM memory.
Try reinstalling the system first.

Windows xp tries to start in safe mode screen then as program starts gets brief blue screen then back to safe mode start selection screen once again this keeps repeating

your system will do this as it has shut itself down to protect itself, to make the blue screen stay on so you can write down the error code (e.g stop 0x0000007B),you need to choose the option of `disable automatic restart on sytem failure` (this will be on safe mode screen, reboot, then when you get the B.S.O.D it will stay on and display an error code, google it and you get the answer or post the code on here and i`ll tell you

I received a bluescreen with message turn off

It sounds like you have a virus.

try and start the computer in Safe Mode just hit your reset button and then Press F5 before windoze starts.

select "Start Safe Mode with Networking"

Update your antivirus program and Try to run another antivirus scan.

If that doesnt work, you need to do this........When Windows crashes, it writes a system event 1001 and a minidump to the folder\
\windows\minidump Check system event 1001 and it has the content of the blue screen

Control Panel -> Adminstrative Tools -> Event Viewer -> System -> Event 1001.

Copy the content and email it to me at [email protected]

pls rate 4 stars

short of that, you are going to have to
