Hello EMIS,

On the front panel of the DVD-RW, you should see a small hole, either above or below the tray. Take a paper clip and open it out. This should just about fit into the hole. Push the clip tip into the hole as far as it will go and keep poking around. This will actuate the manual release lever for the tray and the tray should pop out.
S-L-O-W-L-Y pull the tray out and take out your DVD. Restart the computer and the tray should go in automatically.

Hope this helps! Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here.

P.S. Before you assign a rating, please make sure that the issue is resolved or you are satisfied. If not, please post back as to what you did, and/or any other questions you may have, and I will try to assist you as best I can. Please do not assign an ‘Inappropriate’ or ‘Thanks for trying’ rating if your issue is not resolved after the first response itself, as sometimes a bit of to and fro dialogue may be necessary before we can find a fix or an answer to your query.

If you find that the solution/answer I provided led you to, or resulted in a fix, please close the ticket with a FixYa! or Helpful rating. I would be very grateful for your show of appreciation.

Thank you for using FIXYA!

Cheers!

Dvdrw drive for acer vista computer is missing how do i fix it?

Sometimes your CD/DVD drive is hidden by default if it's empty. There is a setting for that. If you have a disk in there and the drive is not showing up then you should check the power and sata or ide cables to the drive inside the case. If they are connected properly, then you need to replace the drive.

DVD SOHD-16P9S drive doesn't read any kind of CD or DVD

hi,there is no problem in drivers .
check the hardware parts
there are 2 possibilities in your case
1.the laser beam which reads the dvd or cds is malfunctioning
2.ensure that the cable & buses are properly connected

..
in case laser beam is damaged you got to get it repaired for proper functioning

all the best

Liteon dvdrw tray does not open

I had the same problem with my LiteOn dvd re-writer. It appears to be caused by a worn or slipping drive belt. I found the following link helpful http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/console/other/360belt.htm
After manually ejecting the tray using a bent paperclip, the drive belt was easily removed, washed in warm soapy water, dried thoroughly and re-attached. Tray opened and closed perfectly. Still looking for a new replacement belt though!

My dvdrw/r cannot write anything. can you solve this problem? i cannot write anything on any blank DVDs. i can write on blank CDs. But i cannot do the same on the blank DVDs. How can i solve this? Please...

QUE : are you sure you are using a DVD multi- recorder or have you successfully write any DVD disc with your writer ?
IF YES : then check the lens ........ sometimes the weakness of the lens causes that to happen......
you are to clean the lens with a lens cleaning liquid and try the writing stuff again..... am sure this would work or have the drive replaced...
