How to record ogm

Recording your outgoing message, or "greeting" as it is sometimes referred to, is a function that is dependent on the type of voice mail system you have. In any event you will need the password that's associated with that extension as well as knowledge of the voice mail pilot number (the main voice mail number). Actual instructions will vary widely as no two voice mail systems are the same. Contact your phone system administrator for assistance.

I have put a main greeting on my Norstar M7310 phone for all 5 incoming lines, however one of our incoming lines has grabbed a personal message form another extension and callers get that personal message...

You need to know what extension is causing the forward directly to voice mail. Chances are that this extension has ringing lines programmed to it and the forward on busy is to voice mail. ANY PHONE THAT HAS RINGING LINES SHOULD NOT BE SET TO FORWARD ON BUSY. If they happen to be on the phone when a call comes in it will go straight to their personal mailbox.

How do we set up the phone system so that an outside caller can call our extension directly without having to go through reception/main unit?

There are a couple of ways. The easiest one is to use the Panasonic voice mail system which has an auto attendant built-in. It can be programmed to answer incoming calls, play a menu and let the caller dial extensions or ring the operator. If no one answers, it can take messages and provide the voice mail for the system. The TVA system has a LAN card that can send voice mail to email. It's optional in the TVA-50 and included in the 200.

How do I transfer a call into voice mail, directly - do I use the direct VM key and then press the extension #?

Just divert your calls to the desired voice mail no. All will be done automatically, nothing manual process you have to do.

Deleted main voice mail

you will need to have the admin program and a cable to connect to the system to re-make the mail box 990 or call a forwarded phone and get their voicemail box and press star and log into mail box 999 and create the user 990. If its older and you have a keyboard and monitor simply make mail box 990 and turn on DND.

Voice message, reprogramming extensions

How did you program the voicemail so a caller can not leave a voicemail to a particular extension? Line ownership? SO a call goes directly to a milbox?

How can you reprogram the voice message????? Which one, for a particular user or the main Auto attendant greeting????

You have to know the admin login to change a mailbox password.

For that, you need to know which voicemail system this is.
When you log in to check your mail, the lady says, "welcome to Partner......"

Please fill in the blanks.

Delete old voice mail - program new voice mail

You can usually access the system voice mail setup from any extension.

Press Speaker

Dial ext 200.

When asked for security code, dial *,2,# (dial it twice if there is no code).

When main greeting begins, dial 632.

Using the soft keys under the display, press MORE, then MGR, then CHBX or, follow voice prompts if non-display phone.

Follow voice prompts. Remember, 1=Yes, 2=No.

Will Not go to voice mail

Jennifer209, if you press FEATURE + the button VM is pre-programmed on what does it display? It should show the extension number pilot to VM. If you call it directly, what happens? If you get no answer calling it directly, your VM may be down.

Kaait, is it getting into the VM that's the problem, or doing things inside the mailbox that is the problem?
