The Glass shattered on our Konica Minolta Bizhub 350/250/200. Can you replace it with any glass?

No, the glass is a treated glass that produced no glare when the lamp is applied to the image. Therefore you will need to replace it with OEM glass. There is some aftermarket glass available, but for this type of unit I would spend the extra money to assure I am getting the best glass without a porous surface.

GE EVOLUTION Glass top. The hot surface(Glass top)

Individual burners, located directly under the cooktop glass, contain a temp sensor which lights up the hot surface lamp when they sense a hot condition. If the light stays on after all burners are cool, one of the sensors has shorted out. The sensors are an integral part of the burner, so the offending burner must be replaced to solve your constant on hot light.

There are burnt on grease stains on my new ceramic glass kitchenaid cooktop on one burner. I've tried cooktop magic and it did remove some, but not all, stains. A razor was recommended to remove the...

Use the razor push only in one direction this will remove the stain. Ceran is a very resiliant material and you will not scratch it but if you leave gunk on the burner and repeatedly cook on it the stain will become permanant and you also risk pitting the glass. Pitting is pock marks in the glass that are permanant. Pitting is most commonly produced when starch or sugars are left on a burner but is possible with other spills. Good Luck.

Is the glass surface on my GE Spectra solid surface glued to the heat element frame ?

The exterior panel (stainless in my case) is "glued" by adhesive to a lower metal piece which attaches to the door. I know this because my front panel came unglued and there is no other means of support. I am buying a very expensive new front panel.

Glass top range cookware

Here's the recommended cookware for glass top ranges:

Aluminum and Copper - have good heating characteristics, but may leave metal transfer marks on the glass.

Stainless - may take longer to heat and may not heat as evenly (some stainless has a copper liner to aid in heat transfer). More resistant to leaving metal transfer marks.

Baked Enamel - great heating characteristics, provides uniform heating and resists marks on glass surface.

Cast Iron - NOT recommended due to the weight of the metal. Can cause potential cracks or breakage.

Now, any reference to metal transfer marks are merely disclaimers from most manufacturers that the potential exists that the cookware could leave marks on the stove surface. Using a good cook-top cleaning product after the surface cools will aid in removing any of these marks. This does not mean this cookware should not be used.

All cookware used on glass cook-tops should have flat bottoms. There should be no ridges, grooves, or warping. This creates an uneven heat transfer between the pan and surface and can potentially cause the glass to break. Most manufacturers will not honor a warranty where it can be determined that the consumer used the wrong cookware.

Make sure you wipe up any spills on the stove surface that contains sugars or milk. These ingredients (if allowed to burn on the surface and are not cleaned up) will eventually cause damage to the glass surface by either removing the finish or leaving pits and cracks. Wipe up all spills AFTER the surface has been allowed to cool using a non-abrasive cleaning rag or sponge. The green scrubbing pads are considered non-abrasive and CAN be used. DO NOT use steel wool or SOS pads! A small straight blade razor can be used to remove stubborn items by gently scraping in one direction. I don't believe you can use any cleaning product that contains ammonia either.

All of this information can be found in the owners manual that came with the appliance. If you don't have a user/owner's manual, post back with your model number and I'll see if I can locate it for you. I hope this helps you.

Cracked While Cleaning

I did that to a Toshiba laptop long ago, happens to the best of us. I think they?re referring to the LCD panel itself not a piece of glass you can replace. Usually the outer layer you can touch is a plastic/vinyl layer that covers the outer glass layer. Behind that is another sheet of glass and sandwiched in-between is the liquid crystal material. All of this is bound together as one unit and not repairable.
