Heating element. How about just replacing the coil?

Hi folks ~

My heating element coil broke. Is there just a coil available out there? It seems silly to replace the whole element when it's clearly just a coil that needs to be restrung. I imagine a coil won't run $100+ either. *Someone* out there must make this coil or an equivalent.

Thanks!

You can get a re-string kit if its the open type heating element round pan style and re-string it yourself for about $30-$40

Hi, I have a Roper electric dryer (mod RED4340SQ1, SER MU2130244, Type 0433-ELE-2406026) that heats up when drying, yet does not heat up enough to dry the clothing. All other functions seem to work. ...

repairs should be performed by an authorized repair person. the heating element coil may be broken and grounding itself the the module housing. if so replace the heating element.

Usually when the element fails to heat up, It means its usually broke, cracked, or where they plug in gets brittle and breaks. Your best bet is to replace the bottom element.

Hi my dryer is only just over 1 year old so of course warrenty is up and it wont heat. it runs and circulates but no heat, my husband cleaned out the vent tube what else can we do?? it cant be major its...

it could be the heating element even though it is just over a year old, i have seen heating elements go out on 3 month old dryers, it also could be a thermostat the best thing to do is make sure it is getting the full 220 volts going to it, if it only has 110 volts the motor will run and have no heat and vise versa, then if that is good get to the heating element and look it over real good most of the time the heating coil will be broke into it wont look burnt just broke

My heating element is not working. How can I get a replacement.

I experienced the same problem. My heating element was not working. After a Continuity Test, the Heating Coil was dead and needs replacement. I asked Masterbuilt if any heating coil replacement parts were available. They said "no", but they could offer a discounted sale on a new Smoker for about $175.00. I am still looking. A local appliance dealer said the internet was the most likely place to find one. After looking on the internet, I can't seem to find one yet. If you know of any, please let me know. Call (616) 772-1332 and ask for Bob. Thanks

Drying is not heating up.

try replacing thermal fuse. its cheaper than the heater element. this fuse blows when there is restricted air flow over the heating element. meaning clogged vent. you can ohm out this fuse. fuse is located at top left of heater duct with two wire leads going towards it. if its ok then remove heating element and look at coils. usually you can see one broke

JUST CHANGED MY GE DRYER TO A 4 PRONG PLUG, NOW NO HEAT

Sounds like your heating element is burned out (acually burned threw) when you moved it if the element was weak it may have broke in two along the coil wires.
Happens alot.
