When you open the door and then close it they will cause a vacuum. some freezers have a pressure relief. if the heater stops working on the relief it will cause this.

Sub zero freezer - 501 f

It is likely the condenser fan is not functioning. You may need to open the compressor access panel to check. If you can hear the compressor running, and the condenser feels warm, the fan should be running. If it isn't, it probably needs to be replaced. Another symptom is the area around the doors feels warm.

Door will not stay shut, nothing is blocking it, no suction sound when it closes

1. Check entire condition of seal, even the bottom section and make sure it is not damaged.
2.Check the seal on the side of the door the hinges are on, they may be catching on the cabinet when closing, if so, use petrolium gel and rub it on the face of the seal, this will allow lubrication of the seal.
3.Also check that the seal has not swelled , if so, you can rectify this by using a hair dryer and starting on the sides the hinges are on, carefully heat the outside of the entire seal on that side, then close the door and hold firmly closed till cool, then move to the other side, top, then bottom doing the same process each time, this usually works a treat.

I hope that has been of some help for you and it works.

Please dont forget to vote, thankyou. regards Russ

Freezer door "locks" or is hard to open, if opened a few minutes prior?

This is normal. Freezers have a vent port to let high moisture out. When you open the door moisture laden air enters. When the door is closed the hot air from outside expands and leaves through the vent port. This creates a vacuum in the freezer that lasts a few minutes. No problem

Sub zero freezer door no longer vacuum seals when the door closes. There is nothing obstructing the door.

Make certain that the freezer fan motor is operable. Otherwise, contact an appliance service company.

Sub zero refrigerator model 532 problem the freeze is warm on the top but the ice & items below the ice are OK. i suspect that the light may be always on. also the freezer door does not make its...

I suspect a bad fan motor, door switch, or not defrosting. The suction when door closes is caused by the low temperature created when working properly.

Temperature goes up

do you hear any fans running?  by the temp staying cold on the drawers whih are in the lower area of the freezer it indiates to me that the fans are inoperable. to test open freezer door then push in light switch by hand and listen for the fans to come on. if it turns out you have bad motor you most likely will have to call a sub zero dealer to have repaired. messge me back with any questions peyton

Hi sckk,
ngafm at your service,

Your indoor ice and water keeps getting iced up.
There is an air leak somewhere between the ice and water dispenser on the door and the freezer!
there are many places that this may be. But usually the spring loaded door where the ice drops out to the door ice machine!
It takes a good tech sometimes a couple visits changing a couple of parts till he gets it.
There is no sure fire way to diagnose which part is the culprit thats leaking air.You need an experienced tech that eyeballs it and knows what parts to choose first to be replaced.
The air leak almost microscopic to the eye.
Sometimes you take ice from the door and the crack only closes full some time after wards. Then the tech comes the next day and sees nothing. Or it is intermittent problem!

My advice is only a trained tech can remedy this problem, this time!
If I were there I'm sure I could nail it down!

You need hands on service!
Bless You ,
ngafm,
please give me a goo rating before you sign off.
Thank you.

Sub zero 532 freezer

Confused: you say the temp. won't go UP! Are adjusting it the wrong way possibly? Check your users manual on procedure. Make sure nothing is preventing proper doors closing and not sealing properly,
