Satellite Scan function, once completed comes up with Tuner overload Have tried reset factory settings, but no joy. Any help/ideas appreciated??

satellites use a 5v feed fed into the LNB through the co ax line to toggle between vertical and horizontal polarisation, check for any shorts on the co ax and especially its connections, if you have a multimeter disconnect both ends of the co ax and meter the cable for shorts

Satellite signal taking ages to come up

If your tomtom is taking ages to find a satellite signal, it may just need the GPSquickfix updated.

You can get this updated using the Tomtom Home software thatcame with your device or you can download if from the Tomtom website.

The reason this happens is that the satellites are constantly moving on different paths etc and the GPSquickfix files is updated weekly with that weeks satellite paths.

Update failure; system status code. 3151-0000-D080-0200-8007-045D. What I've done: Cleared HD cache... no joy. Removed wireless and switched to cat5... no joy. Connected directly to Modem...

I can't really find anyone who has been able to fix this issue. Have you hooked it directly to the modem via the cat5 cable? I wasn't sure if you meant you hooked it to the modem or router.

Cant acquire satellite

first thing you need to do, is make sure the battery is fully charged. a low battery will cause slow down or prevent the satellites from linking up to your nuvi.

whether that cures the problem or not, go HERE and download the Garmin Web updater and install it on your computer and once the program is running, hook up you nuvi via the usb cable to your computer. the updater will find any available updates for your nuvi automaticly.

no sense searching the garmin site for something that may or may not be there when the updater does it for you.

My Maestro 3225 is stuck on the system settings

if your lucky, all it will need is a reset. start the unit and using a paper clip, insert it in the small hole on the side. if that fails, try the update using the Magellan link below...follow the update directions carefully. you must register your unit on the magellan site to download the update.

if neither solution works, id say the digitizer is bad (the touch screen) but the update normally cures this problem!

let me know if you need further help!

Takes a very long time for my Garmin to locate a satellite.

The real reason it takes so long to connect is:=

The battery has to be fully charged (by AC or USB)
Using just the car charger does not do it. It is a manintenance charger.

Hence the intermittent experience you are having Freshly charged works well, not charged poor connection
Check the charge level before you use it .
