Question about Garden
I have a McCulloch MS40A chainsaw. It took it apart to change the chain, now can't get it back together because the brake band does not slip around the drum. This is the first time I have had on apart that had a brake. What is the secret?
Take it out to the nearest trash can and throw it in. Then go buy a Stihl, Husquevarna, or Dolman. Even if you get the POS back together, the recoil will be going out shortly, guaranteed (about the only guarantee that comes with it).

The chain brake must be released before starting this exercise. At this point, you will have to operate the release with a large screwdriver since the cover must be in place normally to operate the brake. Good luck!
