Kenmore gas dryer not getting hot enough to dry

If inside of drum gets hot suspect first somewhere between it and the place where it vents outside a blockage---Lint can do this and be hard to find and also represents a fire hazard, each year there are hundreds of fires caused by lint buildup that catches fire

Hot tub won't get hot enough

Low Heat -
This problem is not usually associated with the heater element but more often a result of water flow issues. Specifically blockages such as dirty filters, partially closed valves etc... But... excessive scale/mineral build up on the element is on uncommon and can result in reduced heating. The fix is easy, use chemical treatments to reduce scale build up.
No Heat
No heat or water is only heating to 60F- 80F? If you are getting a low reading this is because the water is only being heated by the friction caused by running through the plumbing system and pump. Assuming there has not been a dry fire (visual signs of burn/overheat marks/ damage to the heater tube) and your temperature sensor and hi limit are in working order.
A bad element. Like a light bulb, spa heater elements will burn out over time & there are many factors which affect their longevity.

Oven won't start

Very interesting. The ignitor is working, so that means you have power and the control is working. The safety valve is working, and you have a complete circuit. So why won' t she fire off? Inside the safety valve is a bi-metal that only opens if the resistance is right. The resistance only changes when the ignitor is on. As it gets hotter it changes in resistance. This allows the gas safety valve to release the gas and ignite. Watch this:

Dryer runs but the heater element gets hot then shuts off. After a few minutes it will heat up again. Is the problem more likely: the hi-limit thermostat or the multi-temp thermostat or the thermal cut-off...

The heating element is SUPPOSED to cycle on and off. The element has a regulating thermostats to ensure it does not get too hot. If the element were to stay on continuously, the dryer would overheat to the point of the element eventually failing, or create a fire hazard. It will cycle on and off dependent upon the internal temperature the moisture level in your clothing (if you are using the Auto-Dry feature).

If your dryer IS still heating, but you are experiencing longer dry times, you may want to check the dryer interior cabinet and/or the entire exhaust duct run to ensure you don't have any clogs or choke points. The following link explains many of the problems that can cause poor drying efficiency:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3578821-dryer_takes_too_long_to_dry

Before assuming you have a problem with the appliance, check your installation to ensure you are providing the dryer with proper exhaust and air flow. A dryer in a clogged state or having improper air flow will not dry efficiently and will cause the heating circuits to actually overheat. Eventually, this can lead to component failures and is the source of fire hazards.

If you have any questions, please post back an let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

Dryer gets hot and spins won't dry cloths

clean exhaust vent ASAP it could start a fire if the heat has nowhere to go out the moisture stays inside and your heat element will cycle on and off on a high temp limit swich

Dryer gets hot when not running

Getting hot when not started is a great concern.
I have a few ideas why, but this is a fire hazard and I would suggest unplugging and either getting help or replacing.
That said, there here are a few suggestions.
1) if the element is shorted to ground, it will get power to one side of the element and heat though ground. This, again, is serious.
2) if it heats forever and doesn't get warm enough to dry, this is another indication of an element that is not working up to power. Not getting 230 across the entire element and not getting hot enough to dry.
3) Many times when a dryer runs too long, the air flow if blocked by the vent being plugged or some plug withing the dryer itself.

Again, I am very concerned about this problem and suggest you not use it until it is repaired. If you want to check the element, it is fairly easy, but unit will need disassembled.
