Hi Higo. Try to test if your controller is responding by plugging in the USB cable to any USB port (PS3 or Computer). Lights should respond once you plugged in to USB port. This means that your controller is charging. Have it charged for 2 hours then test again. If same issue happened then there is a problem with your bluetooth receiver. You need to bring your PS3 to nearest sony repair center. If light doesnt respond the moment you plugged in the USB cable to USB port. this means that the controller is totally dead, You need a new controller.

Hope this helps.

  • Archie Cruz
    Archie Cruz May 27, 2010

Yes, you can try. Here is the link where you can purchase the battery. But i suggest you test it first before you buy the battery.

  • higo83 May 27, 2010

i dont know what do u mean by test it. test what? where i can find a battery just to try it.

  • Archie Cruz
    Archie Cruz May 27, 2010

You may use the battery of the other controller. Just to test if the battery is the issue. If nothing happened then this could be a controller problem.

  1. Step 1 Charge your controller if it won't come on. Wireless controllers must be plugged into the PS3 via the USB cord to be able to charge when the batteries start to get low. If you weren't paying attention to the low battery warning, it's possible the control ran completely out of juice. The PS3 must be on while the controller is plugged in for it to charge.
  2. Step 2 Reset the controller if it doesn't seem to be responding correctly. There is a reset button located in a very small hole on the back of the controller. If you turn the controller over and keep the top side of the controller facing up, the hole will be on the right side, toward the top. You will need a thin pointy object, such as a pin or a straightened paperclip to get inside the hole and press the reset button. Sometimes resetting makes a controller that seems otherwise dead work like new.
  3. Step 3 Sync your controller to the unit again. If what you are doing on the controller isn't translating to the screen, it is likely a sync issue. That doesn't necessarily mean that the controller is dying. It may just need to be synced to the system again. Plug your controller in via the USB port, and press the "PS" button to sync.
  4. Step 4 Try plugging the controller in while the console is off. If the system will not recognize the controller when you plug it in and attempt to sync it, you can try to make it recognize the controller by powering the system off, plugging the controller in via the USB cord and then powering the system back on. As the system is booting up, it may recognize the controller as a device.
  5. Step 5 Do a hard reset of the system. A hard reset will return your system to factory settings, so any information that you have stored on the unit should first be backed up. Doing a hard reset will fix the issue if it is the console and not the controller that is the actual problem. To do a hard reset, turn off the PS3 using the switch on the back of the unit and turn it back on, then hold the power button on the front of the console down for several seconds. When you hear three beeps, the system has been reset. Try to plug your controller in, and press the "PS" button to sync. If the system still cannot recognize the controller, you will need to buy a new one.

Those are the steps man, what do you want? I would have wrote you the same thing.

Also how am I supposed to know you already tried the entire process? It doesn't state is specifically in your post.

If you've tried everything above, then your controller needs to be replaced. There's no "magic" fix besides what I've already suggested.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. I am assuming that it is Sony Play station. The issue arises due to overheat of the console, failing fan, dust and the system is not cooled correctly. Some of the connections under the chip are not making good contact and this problem is caused by excessive heat. So ps3 needs to be open and the motherboard or whole PS 3 needs reflow and new thermal compound to dissipate the heat better. Probably a fan is failing or full of dust and the system isn't cooled correctly. Or some objects are blocking important air intakes. The console detects the high temperature and shuts off. Try to clean the console with compressed air spray or have it serviced by Sony, if you are sure the PS3 has enough "breathing room". Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Sylvania TV does not respond to my my RCA remote control

You can find the remote control codes for different brands of devices from
http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/codes-tv.shtml#tv

If none of the codes work then we have two other solutions:

1. Searching For Your Code

If you have tried all of the set-up codes for your brand of equipment ,or your brand is not listed, and you are still not able to get the unit to respond, try the following procedure to search for your code.
If you don't find a code that works, the remote will flash four times when you reach the end of all the codes for this device type.
  1. PRESS the button for the device you want to program, (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.), then RELEASE.
  2. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice, then RELEASE.
  3. ENTER 9-9-1 (two blinks on the remote)
  4. ALTERNATE slowly between the POWER key and the DEVICE (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.) button until your device turns off. (On VCR, LD, and CD players use PLAY instead of POWER)
Make sure that the remote is pointed at your device during the search, You may have to press this sequences of buttons up to 100 times to search the entire library of codes.
  5. When your device turns OFF, PRESS the SETUP button and RELEASE it to lock in the code for your device.

2. Learn the buttons from the original

Line up your original remote and the head-to-head before completing the following steps.
  1. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice.
  2. PRESS 9 - 7 - 5, the red LED will flash twice.
  3. PRESS the DEVICE key where you wish to learn the function. The next 3 steps must be completed within 10 seconds.
  4. PRESS the button that will receive the learned function, the LED will flash rapidly.
  5. PRESS the button on the original remote to be learned.

Now you can repeat steps 3 through 5 to learn other functions onto other keys or press and hold SETUP until the Cinema's red light flashes twice to lock in your new feature. (If the red light does not blink twice, stop and repeat steps through 6).
To test the new feature, press and release the device key in which the new feature was learned followed by the key on which the feature was learned

More help for programming your remote can be found here:

Hope that helps! Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here.

P.S. - If you find that the solution/answer I provided led you to, or resulted in a fix, please close the ticket with a FixYa! rating. I would be very grateful for your show of appreciation.
If it hasn’t, please do not assign a rating just yet. Please post back as to what steps you took, results, etc, and I will try to assist you further as best I can. I am here at your service.

Thank you for using FIXYA!

Try resetting your Controller. Using a paper clip, there is a small reset button on the underside of the SIXAXIS. Press it.
