Question about Clarion VRX935VD Car DVD Player

System is on but no power to amps

Hi Guys,
I have a VRX935vd for approximately 5 years now and I started having some problems with lately. The power on the the Amps that I have hook up to the the brain have no power. It started doing it after on for a while. Now I can't make the amps come on. I've checked and actually re-ran the remote wire and nothing. When I connect the remote wire to a 12 volt wire, the amps come right on.

Somebody please help me this, its driving me nuts.

The problem is inside of the brain.
You need to resold the surface resistors,there are four of them,the number on them are 1R5,and the are between transistors Q1003 and Q610

There r a load of wires to the one i just bought

Hi,

Sorry for a very late reply. Your concern was just recently brought to my attention.

Basically, for a Clarion VRX935VD to work outside of a vehicle, there are 4 wires that must be connected other than the speaker/amp connections. These are:
  • Red - to the +12 supply (normally an ACC/IGN B+12 in the car);
  • Yellow - to the +12 supply (normally an always on B+12 in the car);
  • Black - to the GND or - of powersupply or battery; and
  • Grass Green - switching negative (normally to the parking brake switch in the car).
Additional information on the wiring and installation may be found here.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Help with install on clarion vrx935vd

Hi,

The green would have to be connected to the handbrake indicator switch. Additionally, Clarion uses the industry standard wiring colors. Not every unit will have all of the listed wires

SPEAKERS:
White = Left Front +
White/Black = Left Front –

Gray = Right Front +
Gray/Black = Right Front –

Green = Left Rear +
Green/Black = Left Rear-

Violet = Right Rear +
Violet/Black = Right Rear –

POWER/ACCESSORY:
Yellow 14ga = Battery Main/Memory
Yellow 18ga = Battery CeNET Power/Memory
Red = Accessory (ignition on)
Black = Ground
Blue = Antenna Turn On +
Blue/White = Remote Turn On (amps) +
Orange/White = Dimmer
Brown = Phone Mute
Orange or Mint Green= Parking Brake Video Lockout
White/Red = CCD (camera) input instant on +

RCA Cables:
Gray = Front Output
Black = Rear Output
Purple = Non-Fade or Subwoofer Output

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Need to buy a new brain

I have a factory Clarion Brain unit for the Clarion VRX935VD after my head unit/monitor was stolen from my car 2 years ago. It's been sitting in a drawer in my room on good working order, still have the wiring harness too, although 2 wires have been cut from where they cut it. Interested give me a call 1-234-567-1724 i live in Ohio. I will sell as i have NO USE for it whatsoever and haven't for years, just too lazy to put it up on ebay or anything like that.

First,try to reset the brain,there is a reset switch in one of the sides, near to the video input or output,press the switch and hold it for few seconds and see what happens.
If that not fix the problem,the brain may be damage,there are few internal microfuses in the brain,one on the top view an two on the bottom,the location are F1002,F1003 &F1001

GOOD LUCK!

Clarion VRX935VD

I have had a 935VD(Clarion) for about 6 months now, and i decided to add headrest monitors. After i did the physical installation, i moved onto the wiring (obviously). The way i decided to hook the power up was to tap into the accessory power feeding the brain of my 935VD - that may have been a bad idea, but whatever, i did it. Anyway, when i was installing it i accidently grounded the accessory wire and blew the accessory fuse under the hood. Thats fine, i just finished wiring it up and replaced the fuse after completion. The problem is that when i turn the car on now, the deck will not go on. On the deck - in its closed position - all the buttons light up, but the front display does not go on, and it acts like it is off (the eject button works but it will not take a CD in). I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions. I would apprecaite it. Right now im nervous that i fried the brain, but i where it was grounded was between the battery and the brain, so it should not have done n e thing to it... who knows...

Do you have an external amplifier for all your speakers?
If you answer is yes, you need to check the remote wires,they may be connected in the wrong place.
the wire for the amp's remote is the BLUE/WHITE STRIPE.The BLUE (only) wire is for the pwr antenna,in other worlds if you connected the pwr antenna wire to the the remote in to the amplifiers,every time you insert a cd,your unit will swtich to cd mode and will turn the pwr antenna voltage off.
Just switch the wires.

Sound problem

what model is this? the very first thing i would do is make very sure you dont have a speaker wire shorting out on metal/rubbing/2 wires touchung togther somewhere. this is very bad. If this is a vrx935 id also try wiggling the "din" cord (its a blue cord with about 20 wires inside) between the brain and thwe head unit with the cd playing.. if the audio cuts in/out while wiggling that cord youve found your problem. If you cant figure it out and get sick of it i do buy old clarion dvd players for parts id love it for parts. let me know how it goes! mike bigmikeselectronic@comcast.net
