Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. To make it region free please follow these step by step instructions:

1. Remove all discs from player.
2. Turn off the player
3. Unplug the power cord to the player
4. Wait 30 seconds, and then reconnect the power cord.
5. Turn on player with the remote control. Wait until player LCD says 'No Disc'.
6. Press 'Enter' on remote control. (There will be No On-Screen Response.)
7. Press 8, 4, 2, 6, and 9 on the remote control. (There will be No On-screen Response.)
8. Press Enter on the remote control. Player will power off.
9. Turn player on using remote control.
10. Open the tray.
11. Close the tray.
12. Turn player off then on.
13. Player is now Region Free

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Have you tried this

2. Wait one minute and reconnect to mains
3. Turn on player with remote.
4. Press ENTER on remote.
5. Press 8, 4, 2, 6, 9.
6. Press ENTER on remote, the tray will open, leave it like that.

I have tried this procedure and the tray did not open, I have heard that when you enter the code you have to do it very quickly, is this true.

Have you tried this on this unit or is this a generic solution for samsung blueray players

    Thanks

Yes, you must press them quickly.

Yes, this is a generic Samung fix, it has worked for me in all their BR players that i've worked on. I never had your model in my hands (it's still a very new one) so i can't be sure it will work.

How to make my Samsung HT-BD8200 region free?

1. Open the disc tray and remove any discs
2. Close the disc tray
3. Switch Off Player and Unplug from mains wait minimum 30 seconds - this resets the memory, and RAM of the DVD/BlueRay
4. Make sure your TV is on as usual, and Reconnect to mains
5. Turn on your DVD/Blueray player with remote and wait for the "no disc" message to appear
6. PS! As quickly as possible, using your controller press - ENTER 8 4 2 6 9 ENTER
7. You have been successful when a blue box appears in the top left-hand side of the TV Screen, displaying the message "DVD Region Free"

You may have to attempt the "ENTER 8 4 2 6 9 ENTER" sequence several times before you get the Region Free message if you're not quick enough.
