My wife had the same problem. I took hold with needlenose pliers and pulled while she held the catch open. The battery came out and proved to be swollen. It was an original battery I bought at the same time as the camera.

How can I change the exposures, or f-stops on the Nikon N75 35mm camera?

That depends on the exposure mode. In the point&shoot modes the camera sets the exposure.

In P you can turn the command dial to change the exposure.

In S you turn the command dial to set the shutter speed, the camera changes the aperture to suit.

In A you turn the command dial to set the aperture, the camera changes the shutter speed to suit.

In M you turn the command dial to set the shutter speed, you hold down the aperture button and turn the command dial to set the aperture.

If you don't have a manual, get one from

Hi i am using a Nikon N75 to take pictures for my photo class, and the instructor wants us to take low light indoor phtotos at a shutter speed of 1/30 at f2.2. However, when i go to set these settings in...

It's probably a limitation of your lens. You didn't say what lens you're using, but one of the common kit lenses sold with the N75 only goes to f/3.3 at best. If you had a lens that opens up more, the camera will let you use it.

The difference between f/2.2 and f/4 is about two stops, so to compensate you'd have to use a shutter speed of 1/8.
