Motherboards can be configured to react to the application of AC power in several ways:

* always automatically start-up as soon as AC power is supplied;
* never automatically start-up when AC power is supplied;
* if on when the power stopped, come on;
if off when the power stopped, stay off.

Leave the auxiliary-connector NOT connected, if your computer works without it.

Enter BIOS SETUP, and change the 'POWER' settings, if you want the computer to stay "off" when AC power is restored.

I doubt it is a capacitor problem or any problem for that matter. Usually there is a 3 to 5 minute power off & restored delay for any airconditioner. The reson for this is that the compressor has built up high pressure just as a matter of normal function. It is not possible for it to restrt until the coolant pressures stabilize. So they use a time start delay in the event of a power loss. As a result of that function you have i n i t i a l l y to turn on your airconditioner after power has been lost and then restored.
Thanks for choosing FixYa.

System wont boot up,screen says "the hard disk system is corrupted and will be restored" Ihit restore and it keeps going back to same "restore screen" but still wont start up

If you hold down your power button for more than 5 seconds that should start your PS3's system restore. This will put your PS3 back to the factory default settings, which is essentially what the PS3 was like when you first turned it on.The restore function should run automatically and display a few messages to let you know what the status of the restore is. This will also delete your saved into. If the restore does not start then you have a hardware issue with the unit and will have to get it serviced, or diagnose the issue yourself if you have the tools and experience.

Acer laptop with vista now windows wont work

1. Boot to safe mode by tapping F8 as soon as you power your computer on.

2. Launch system restore under Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore.

3. Just follow the steps and select a restore point (any day before this problem started).

4. System restore should also be able to uninstall the Automatic Updates that could have caused the issue.

Another option is you can Contact Microsoft Support and tell them that you're having issues with automatic updates, you shouldn't be charge for the support if it's still under warranty.

HP Presario c700, power on automatically.

If this is a new issue you can revert, or go back in time when the computer was working fine my using 'system restore'

To use System Restore to restore Windows XP to a previous state, follow these steps:
  1. Log on to Windows as Administrator.
  2. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore. System Restore starts.
  3. On the Welcome to System Restore page, click Restore my computer to an earlier time (if it is not already selected), and then click Next.
  4. On the Select a Restore Point page, click the most recent system restore point in the On this list, click a restore point list, and then click Next.

    Note A System Restore message may appear that lists configuration changes that System Restore will make. Click OK.
  5. On the Confirm Restore Point Selection page, click Next. System Restore restores the previous Windows XP configuration, and then restarts the computer.
  6. Log on to the computer as Administrator. The System Restore Restoration Complete page is displayed.
  7. Click OK.
If you successfully restored your computer to a previous state, and the computer is performing as it should be, you are finished.

Also there is a setting under 'power options' on the advanced tab that controls how the pc shuts down when the button is pressed, go and check to see how that setting it configured, by clicking on the drop down button06e3d7f.gif

boot into Windows' Safe Mode; press F8 before the Windows loading screen appears to get this option.

Once signed in, you'll be prompted to a) continue in Safe Mode, or b) Restore a previous install point.

Choose option b) and then follow the instructions. If the same problem (black screen after Windows has started up) persists once you've rebooted, sign in with Safe Mode again and restore to an earlier install point.

change the Automatic Update to notify before installing.

Swamp cooler starts up automatically after power outage

generally ther thermostat is the "brain" of the system, check the wiring diagram (if there is one) or the wiring and see if the on off swtch is inseries or parallell to the thermostat, (should usually be in series if it is I would say that the on off switch is the culprit. you cna verify with an ohmmeter to see if it is staying in the closed position.
