The ipod feature comes on auto when you double click the home button while the phone is locked this could be why it comes on by itself while in your pocket or bag

How to unlock it

How to Unlock an Apple iTouch

Although locking your iPod Touch prevents accidental touch commands, the feature also prevents you from accessing your media and applications while the device is locked, according to the Apple site. The lock code is the 4-digit code that was created when the passcode lock was first enabled, and displays a passcode menu prompt on the iPod Touch's screen when the "Home" or "Power" button is pressed and the unlock bar is slid across the screen.

Instructions
1 Push the "Home" button on the iPod Touch's screen, or push the "Power" button on top of the device to show the home screen.
2 Slide your finger on the iPod Touch's unlock bar.
3 Enter the 4-digit passcode using the on-screen keypad to unlock the device. If you cannot remember the passcode, plug the dock-connector cable into the iPod Touch and plug the other end into your computer's USB port. According to Apple, the iPod Touch will automatically unlock after it is connected to your computer.

How to Jailbreak your iPhone or iPod Touch (iOS 4.3.1, Untethered)

How to Jailbreak your iPod with redsn0w.

Regarding the legality of jailbreaking:
It has been ruled by law that jailbreaking is, in fact, legal, despite what some say. However, there are things that you can do with jailbreaking that are illegal, none of which is discussed here. Everything that you are instructed to do here is perfectly legal. Even downloading Installous is legal, but pirating paid apps from it is illegal. Use at your own risk.

That said, let's get on with the jailbreaking! Jailbreaking with redsn0w is easy. The first thing you will want to is check to make sure you have iOS 4.3.1. Also note that this will not work with Verizon's iPhone. To check your current version, get out your iPod or iPhone and go to settings. Once there, go to general and then press about. It should list your version there. If you don't have 4.3.1, you can get it by plugging your iPhone or iPod into iTunes and update it from the pop-up window that will appear.

Once you're sure that your iOS version is 4.3.1, which is the latest as of April 9th, 2011, we can begin. The first step is to download Redsn0w, the tool we will be using.

For Windows: Download from this link. Once you download Redsn0w, you need to right click on it and select properties. Go to the compatibility tab and check Run as administrator and Run in compatibility mode for Windows XP.

For Mac: Download from this link.

Now we're ready to start the process of jailbreaking your iPod / iPhone with redsn0w.

Step 1) Plug your iPhone or iPod Touch into your computer. Make sure iTunes is closed and that your iPhone or iPod is off.

Step 2) Download and select your device's IPSW. To do that, go to this page and click the link for your device. The download may take a little while. Once your download is done, open Redsn0w and press the browse button. Browse to the IPSW file you just downloaded and open it.

Step 3) Press next and wait for Redsn0w to process the data. Once it's done you will see a screen asking which options you want. Make sure Install Cydia is the only one checked. Press next.

Step 4) You will see a screen that tells you to make sure your iPhone/iPod is off. Pick up your device in your hands and be ready to follow the on-screen instructions. When you are ready, press next.

Step 5) Follow the on-screen instructions, telling you to hold the power button and home button and whatnot. Once it automatically skips to the next screen, you should release the buttons you are holding and wait for the jailbreak to continue. Once it asks you to press finish, do so but leave your iPhone or iPod plugged in.

Step 6) Wait for your iPhone or iPod to finish its process. Do not be alarmed if white lines of text appear, or if a walking pineapple appears.

Once your iPhone or iPod is back at the lock screen, your jailbreak is done! Cydia, your jailbroken app store, should be found as the last app on your last page. Have fun, and play safe.

The screen has frozen up and has went black

Usually, the best way to remedy this is to do a hard reset on your device. To do that, follow the steps below:
  1. Hold your iPod like how you would hold an iPhone. Notice the lock button at the top edge of the device and the home button located on the front face of the device.
  2. Hold down BOTH the home and lock buttons until the screen turns itself off or, until you see a slider come down giving you the option to slide to turn off.
  3. Give a few moments for your device to turn off completely.
  4. Hold the lock button again for a few moments and your device will turn on with the apple logo on display. After a minute or two, you should see your lock screen. You can now use your iPod normally.

My iphone is not turning on. It is jail broken the problem is whenever the iphone goes off i have to jailbreak it each time. Now also i have dome the samething but its not working. Its not turning on.

Try to reboot the iPod, just in case it has crashed
  1. Hold the top button and the home button for about ten seconds.
  2. A bug can stop the screen from displaying, sometimes you can reverse the problem by doing the reboot. If you still see nothing on the screen, try to plug the iPhone in to the computer and try the reboot method again.
If you are still unsuccessful in turning on the iPod, but the iPod shows up in iTunes, try restoring from iTunes to fix any bugs causing the issue
  1. Plug the iPod in to your PC, go into iTunes and click the iPod's icon on the left side of the screen.
  2. In the iPod Summary Screen, click on the restore button and agree to the prompt asking if you really want to restore the iPhone's software.
If you are still unsuccessful in turning on the iPod, but the iPod doesn't show up in iTunes, try putting the iPod into recovery mode
  1. You can put the iPod into recovery mode if it has a charged battery.
  2. Start by holding down the home button before connecting it to iTunes, then continue to hold the button until iTunes recognizes that the iPod's in recovery mode.
  3. Recovery mode allows you to perform a restore when you're when an iPod fails to turn on or display anything on the screen.

I screen locked my ipod and now i dont remember my code is there another way?

Connect your iPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one iPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked.

If you can't unlock iPod using either [the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs]. . . you can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your iPod.
Apple also notes that company "representatives cannot unlock an iPod if you forget your combination. If you can't unlock your iPod and you don't have access to the primary computer, your only option is to restore the iPod, which will erase all music and data."
