Question about ASUS P4C800 Deluxe Motherboard
Im having a problem with a asus p4c800 motherboard. It acts as if it is dead. lights turnon and i can hear the harddrive spin up then stops. also there is no display. Ireset the cmos by pulling out the battery (with power off ovcourse) lol. it did come up and i set bios settings, then accepted settings, it started to boot to os (windows xp ) then it camu up with error message - ntldr cannot be found . then it shutdown and went back to the way it started, wont get passed bios and no display. power is ok, i think the motherboard is just a p4c800 not a deluex?
I had exactly the same problem with my kids PC last week, also an Asus on an AMD flatform. I reset the BIOS and clean install the OS and now its working fine. You have to reformat the harddisk, cause in my case it doesn't show its exact capacity when I it hooked it up as slave drive with my own PC. Maybe a virus did it.
