Camera has a Red screen and needs to be reset

Blinking red means just focusing. Blinking arrow means that flash is not ready. Try to factory reset it but if that doesn't help bring camers to repair.

Do you have the self-timer turned on? You could go into the camera menu and find "reset" to return to default settings.

Go into the menu and scroll to "reset" and follow the on-screen instructions.

Call Flip support, problems are happening to too many people, contact Flip support, if they cannot help, contact MacWorld or other online reviewers and let them know.

Have you tried to reset the camera back to factory defaults to see if it is maybe a setting that has the flash disabled? To reset the camera: go to Menu - left arrow to reset and press ok. Highlight yes and press ok. This will put the camera in factory default settings. See if the flash works now. If you see a red squiggly flash arrow blinking on the screen constantly, this is actually a repair issue and the camera would need to be serviced to replace the flash charging indicator switch. try to reset the camera through the menu or else it is in need of repair

it may be hung up in the middle of a shot and can"t reset if this is the case you must reset the camera to its start position

i still can't solve my problem with my camera.

I was having the exact same problem. The screen would turn red and i would get an error message. I realized the lens lid stayed open even when the camera shut itself off. I hit the corner of the camera a few times (the side with the lens) until the lens lid shut. Then I tried to turn on the camera and it worked!
