You will need to replace the spark ignitor if the venting is clear of all lint build up. I would replace the moister sensor as well when this is apart. They tend to wear out in about the same amount of time. Also when was the lest time the belt and tensioner pulley was replaced? If never do that as well

My dryer will not dry effectively, it is very slow to dry even on the high heat settings, any ideas?

i looked up your model number and you have a gas dryer not electric,if the vent line is clear and the metal duct that the lint filter slides into is clean i would say you have bad gas coils located on top of the gas valve, when the coils go bad they will work correctly for the first 15 to 30 minutes, when they heat up they fail and the flame won't ignite,so do this remove the screws that hold the bottom panel on,remove the panel and vac out any lint you see,if you have a shop vac you can set the vac up to blow and blow off the motor and blow all the lint forwards and vac it up,do this with the dryer unplugged, remove the lint filter and take out the screws that hold the metal duct in place and clean the duct out,put it back together except for the screws that hold the bottom panel in place but just stick the panel in place, put some clothes in and start the dryer, after around 20 or 30 minutes remove the bottom panel so you can see the ignitor,if the ignitor glows orange but the flame doesn't ignite and the ignitor goes out then you have bad gas coils.you should take the bottom panel off and remove the lint filter duct and blow and vac it out once a year, also if you vent line is long remove it from the back of the dryer and blow it out with a leaf blower, make sure nothing is blocking the outside vent like a cage or a piece of screen so the lint can blow out and not get blocked.the part number for the coils is 279834 and they are around 25 dollars, unplug the dryer, remove the bottom panel, remove the two phillips head screws, remove the cover, slide the coil up and off of the post, unplug the wire and connect it to the new coil, watch out on the big coil, there's a spacer that has to stay on the post, sometimes it gets stuck in the old coil when you remove it,let me know how you make out.

No heat when drying

Hi there,

Well it's for us to answer if you provide the model number anyway if it's a gas dryer and if your dryer tumbles, but there is no heat then you may please check out the following -
1. First of all you can check out for proper air flow - Check the vent for proper air flow by placing your hand over the exterior vent while the dryer is running. You should feel a strong flow of air. If not then check the lint trap. It is located either on top of the dryer or possibly just inside the door. Remove any lint that has built up in the lint trap. Cleaning the lint trap should be done regularly, even as often as after every load. Do not operate the dryer without a lint trap in place.
2. Secondly you can check out the Ignitor - gas dryer blows air through a burner assembly to heat the air. The burner assembly consists essentially of a gas valve, ignitor and a flame sensor. If any part of the burner assembly malfunctions, the result will be low or no heat and slow drying of the clothes. Post comments for further help or information.....

Good Luck!!

No heat

If lint is clogged inside the vent tubes that will cause the no heat problem, A moister sensor shuts down the burner for this reason. If the vents are clear the sensor is faulty. If no click is heard upon starting the dryer the spark ignitor is faulty too
