Ok so what your going to want to do is on your desktop there should be an icon (if you installed software) click it and you will get a screen with what ever your pointing the webcam at (make sure you pluged it in) and at the top you will see three circles one has a camera in it click that and you will be recording it will save to your computer video folder. and if you wanna put it on youtube you would have to create a youtube acount fill out the video info once you hit the upload button and hit quick capture and you'll be on your way. For windows movie maker go file capture video fill out that info and your good to go hope this helped andywarhaul

Here is a program that will allow you capture from your webcam as still pictures: http://www.snapfiles.com/php/download.php?id=110557&a=7130001&tag=1093067&loc=1. This one will allow you to record video with your webcam. http://www.nchsoftware.com/capture/index.html.

Can i record a video on A4tech PK-635 Web Cam

Yes you can. You can either use the webcam's included software amcap or you can also use Windows Movie Maker.

To do this, follow these steps:
  • Go to your Windows Movie Maker Movie Tasks and then select "Capture from Video Device".
  • Select webcam from the list of analog devices.
  • You must also select the video input line you want to use for capturing your webcam video.
  • Then enter a name for your captured video file and the location of the drive where you want to save it.
  • Select your video setting preferences for the video you want to capture.
  • To stop capturing, you can either choose to stop anywhere during the recording session or indicate a specific time limit before the recording stops.

Hope these steps help. Goodluck!

How can i install my web cam?

Hi,If you don't have CD for installation, Use the below link to download it.

(microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx?category=ICE)

Set Up and Use the VX-3000 personal web camera
  • 1 Install the software using the included CD and plug the LifeCam into a free USB port. For desktop use, place the LifeCam on a clear spot on your desk that's free of other objects, including cables. The camera should not be more than an arm's length away from you. For LCD (or similar object) use, push the center part of the camera's base upward, place the camera on the LCD and close the base around the monitor to secure it.
  • 2 Open the device software by clicking the Microsoft LifeCam icon on your Windows desktop. If no such icon exists on your Windows desktop, click "Start," click "All Programs" and locate the Microsoft LifeCam program in the list of programs there. After launching the LifeCam program, look at the image that appears. If necessary, adjust the camera to more precisely reflect your appearance. For best results, try to center the camera image on your head and shoulders.
  • 3 Click the video camera icon on the bottom panel of the LifeCam program to begin video capture. Video will begin recording, and you will see a "Recording Video" message beneath the live video image. To stop recording, press the same icon (the icon will have a red square with a blue background during recording).
  • 4 To begin audio capture, click the microphone icon on the bottom panel. To stop the audio recording, click the same icon (again, it will have a red square with a blue background during recording). To snap a photo, click the camera icon on the bottom panel.
  • 5 Access any of your captured video, audio or image files by clicking the folder on the bottom panel. The VX-3000 also provides the ability to edit video or image files using supported software. After snapping a photo or capturing video, click the "Edit" icon that appears beneath the thumbnail of the captured content.

  • Hope it helps.

If you have a Windows XP or Vista machine, you have software already to do this. Windows Movie Maker will allow you to capture video from your webcam. Open the Program and select the Capture video option.

I have a Mikomi DC-7130 Webcam with Mic but cannot get any sound when I play back recordings. after re-loading the software twice I now find I cannot play the recorded video back with sound. I am now...

Click the 'Devices' menu and you should see a tick next to the Webcam name (USB 2.0 UVC Camera).

Underneath this should be the same name (USB 2.0 UVC Camera), select it and a tick will appear next to it.

This means that you are using the webcam as the mic for your video/webcam (instead of a seperate microphone).

Now click on the 'Capture' menu and the option 'Capture audio' will be available (previously it was greyed out)

Tick this/select it and your webcam will pick up the audio.

    I hope this helps.

Also, if anyone finds the image a bit blurry, it can be sharpened bv rotating the webam lens.

AMCap v9.20 AMCap is a small yet fully functional video capture application compatible with Microsoft DirectShow. It is based on the sample AMCap from the Microsoft DirectX 9 SDK. AMCap supports still captures to BMP, JPEG and PNG formats and it remembers your Video Input, Video Standard and Video size settings from previous session. It has some nice features like multimonitoring support, zooming, aspect ratio and deinterlacing features.

AMCap is a small and effictive piece of software and definitely worth trying. Hope this will help. Bud

    Frame Rate

For most webcams reducing the resolution allows a faster response and thus greater framerate to the captured video. The troubleshooting section at the website listed below should help you quite a bit.
