I also see that HP does not have windows 7 support for this laptop
I have also read of people upgrading from vista to 7 successfully

HP calls my HP Pavilion dv9417cl Notebook PC a "Vista PC" and will not support it after I upgraded the OS to Windows 7. Nvidia doesn't appear to be of any help either. windows auto update keeps...

You should of used the Windows 7 Advisor before upgrading to Windows 7 from Vista. The advisor will indicate the hardware and software updates and changes you'll need before performing the upgrade. If you've already installed Windows 7, you can go to the Microsoft Update page and see what kind of updates you need for Windows 7 to work in you laptop. Also, go to the HP website and check the drivers download page for your computer with Window 7 installed, download the drivers, and then install them one at a time for each device. You won't need to talk to a human to do this.

It doesn't look like Lenovo supports Win7 for this product only Vista and XP. The Vista driver should work fine. You could got to the video manufacture and see if they have a driver update. (Intel GMA graphics)

How to get back my web cam drivers for hp dv9000au windows 7.... i used quickplay till i had windows vista... but nw since i have installed windows 7... i cannot access my web camera.... so pls help me...

Hi, Quick play would not work in Windows 7. When upgrading from Vista to Windows 7, some media programs are no longer compatible and will not be found in your Start menu. HP provides replacement programs for QuickPlay and other media programs with Windows 7 MediaSmart software. Plz go to below link and you will get all appropriate software?s of HP Mediasmart. In this link you need to download the drivers used in HP mediasmart webcam and all other stuffs. If you find this helpful then Plz vote for me..Dreamkam

Need drivers webcam for windows 7

Currently there aren't any drivers for your computer with Windows 7. Dell only offers drivers for your computer with Windows XP or Windows Vista. I would try using the Creative Labs Webcam Driver they have for Vista. Since many things about Vista & 7 are similar, often the drivers for Vista will work with Windows 7. Go to, enter the model of your computer, choose Vista as your operating system, then go to Input Devices, choose the Creative Webcam and download the driver to your desktop (I suggest against using Dell's Download Manager, just download via your browser like you usually would). Then install the driver. With any luck your will be up and running with your webcam.

Can i install windows 7 on hp 530 core duo

Yes, you can install Windows 7 on Hp 530 series Notebook. But HP doesn't release any drivers for your notebook for Windows 7.

You install Windows 7 and try to install drivers which are meant for Windows Vista.

If you are trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate or bussiness edition then try to install Windows vista bussiness driver (32-bit).

you can download the driver from the link below

If you are trying to install Windows 7 Home edition then try to install Windows vista Home driver (32-bit).

you can download the driver from the link below

Remember to check whether the Windows 7 is 32 bit not 64 bit version.

Most probably all the drivers will work fine as 90% of the drivers which are meant for windows Vista works fine with windows 7.

Even if you have miss out some drivers or not able to install, you can download "Driver Genius Pro" using the link below

It's full version and you will be able to update or download the lastest drivers from the manufacturer sites directly using that software.

Hope you enjoy Windows 7.

Driver missing

We had the same exact problem but with a Compaq Pesario V6000 series notebook. Ours had to do with the NVidia System Management Controller but was listed in the device manager as a coprocessor. Kind of a bland description.
Solution: Downloaded and installed NVidia System Management Controller from here. Hope this helps.
