Hi there

To answer your question;
There is two ways to go about this, the first one is:
Press the menu button then go to Main>settings>service.select lamp reset.
Or the easiest one is to hold down the volume +and - buttons simultaneously for ten seconds.

Hope this help and good luck.

    This is an Infocus LP755, there is no Main selection under the Menu selections and there is no 'lamp reset' option under any of the Menu available selections. The lamp hours are shown under the Status in the Menu and that's the only place that shows anything to do with the lamp. The User Manual says that the hours are reset automatically after a new lamp is installed and there's a capacitor on the side of the lamp housing which contacts with a connection in the projector and I'm assuming that's where the reset occurs.

    I also tried holding down both sides of the volume button (one button on the LP755) plus even tried holding both of them on the Infocus remote, but neither worked. There must be a way to reset the hours without having to replace the lamp with a brand new housing..................any other ideas??

    I almost forgot I also tried holding down both sides of the brightness button plus both of them on the remote, but no help.

    This is strange because this info comes from the "infocus" web site.

    I have here the web address that will show you the LP755 model number;

    http://www.infocus.com/Support/Products/...

    And under lamp>replace the lamp(answer #5) you will find this;

    http://www.infocus.com/service/x1/downlo...&

    So i`m wondering if there is another production number for the same model?

  • James Cundall May 27, 2010

    The projector that's in the lamp procedure that you sent me the link to isn't an LP755. It's not the same shape, etc. In fact, it looks like an Infocus X2 or something similar. It appears that the manufacturer doesn't have a clue that their website info is wrong. I could send you a pic of the LP755 or you can check at www.projectorcentral.com, there's a pic there.

    Thanks for trying though,

    Jim

  • James Cundall May 27, 2010

    the projector pic at the first link you sent me is the actual projector, the one in the 2nd link that has the 1 page procedure isn't an LP755.

    One question

    Did you replace that lamp yet?

  • James Cundall May 27, 2010

    Yes, replaced the lamp but not the lamp housing/caddy. According to the User Manual the new housing/caddy causes the lamp hours to be reset automatically, I think it's page 39 or 41 in the manual.

    So what does it do now?

    Does it come on but the lamp timer comes on?

  • James Cundall May 27, 2010

    It works fine with no problems. It's just that the lamp hours show 1548 and it'd be nice to change that to '0' since it's a new lamp. The projector doesn't shut down or anything once it reaches a certain number of hours. The lamp housing contains a capacitor that connects with the projector when it's installed and evidently that capacitor has something to do with resetting the lamp usage in the projector. I've heard though that some people have been able to reset the hours without buying a new lamp housing and that's the info I was hoping you guys would be able to provide.

    o.k thats the info i was waiting for.
    Was thinking that perhaps the new lamp having a different current draw than the old one might be the reset switch.
    Just give me a few hours and i`ll find the trick to reset that thing.

    Hi again

    I found an interesting procedure for you to try;

    Pull the lamp out and and re-install it.

    Now before you turn the projo on,

    Simultaneously press the "power" and "vol-"down on the projo itself.

    It should reset the timer.

    Let me know how it goes.

  • James Cundall May 29, 2010

    It didn't work. I even tried different combinations, but nothing worked. There must be a way although since the projector doesn't shut down after 'x' number of hours maybe Infocus figured there wasn't any need to include a way to do it. Just trying to rationalize this.

    Anyway, that one didn't work. Any other ideas are greatly appreciated.

    Well ....Jim this has me stumped.

    This procedure came from a fellow tech who sells bulbs and also does the work of replacing them.

    According to him, the infocus brand of projectors are made by mitsubishi and it is the way they reset the timer when doing a bulb only replacement .

    In any case if the lamp hours or timer doesn`t affect the operation of the projector then it would be redundant.

    As in some RCA dlp sets where there is no timer resets(although many people are looking for it) and it is more like a mileage counter for the tv itself.

    So i guess this as far as i can go on this one and i`ll wish you good luck with it.

    P.S If you ever find out the trick, i`d be curious to know

  • James Cundall May 29, 2010

    Thanks again and I do appreciate the effort. We sell around 60-65 projectors a month so I'm sure I'll have more questions. If we do figure it out you'll be the first to get an email.

    Take care and thanks again,

    Jim

Infocus sp5000 red led blinks once indicating lamp

be sure and reset the lamp hours. Flash the software if you can. These are also notorious for the ballast cable on the inside of the lamp housing backing out when a lamp is removed or replaced. If you have the cover off push the cables back into place and hold them there as you install the lamp. Also look directely at your lamp in the center and move it side to side and up and down. If there are any cracks or frosty looking spots or bubbles in the mirror of the lamp that are visible, then the lamp is probably shot. If all this fails, most likely it is the power supply, or the lamp door has gotten mishapen from heat and the actuator on the lamp door isn't making full contact with the safety swith.

Replace bulb in housing for Infocus IN24.. i want instructions how to remove old bulb from housing.

1 Turn off the projector and unplug the power cord. 2 Wait 60 minutes to allow the projector to cool thoroughly. 3 Turn the projector upside down on a soft cloth so that the lamp door is facing you. 4 Slide the lamp door off. WARNING: Be extremely careful when removing the lamp housing. In the unlikely event that the bulb ruptures, small glass fragments may be generated. The lamp housing is designed to contain these fragments, but use caution when removing the lamp housing. Before replacing the lamp, clean the lamp compartment and dispose of cleaning materials. Wash hands after lamp replacement. Hg ? Lamp contains mercury. Manage in accordance with local disposal laws. 5 Detach the lamp connector from the projector by depressing the locking tab on the connector and lightly pulling it free. 6 Loosen the captive screw that attaches the lamp housing to the projector.Carefully remove the lamp housing. Dispose of the lamp in an environmentally proper manner. 7 Install the new lamp housing and tighten the screw. 8 Re-attach the lamp connector to the projector. The locking tab should engage when the connector is fully plugged in. 9 Replace the lamp door by sliding it into place. Be sure the lamp connector wires are not in the way. 10 Plug in the power cord and press the Power button to turn the projector back on. 11To reset the lamp hour timer, navigate to the Settings>Service menu and select Reset Lamp Hours.
